New Open World Transformers/Gundam-Like Game Looks So Good, But Has One Weird Feature
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 18. 10. 2021
- Check out your very first look at the new Open-World Mech RPG game 'Phantom Galaxies' coming to PS5, Xbox Series X and PC which has you fight an extremely dangerous alien foe, with other online players. The game looks really great, with different mechs, characters and space ship to choose from, but has a feature that could either ruin it, or make it even better? It's about monetization.

Just want a solid mech game as an armor core fan. But throwing in NFTs kinda makes me worried. I just want my games to be games.

Look into daemon x machina.
It's really good for what it is and has a pretty versatile multiplayer.
Daemon x Machina and MASS Builder seem to be the best alternatives for now
The latter isnât too open world sadly
NFT means no Steam release, NFT also means people will make it their job to hunt for unique & rare items for profit(actual money), making the game their job, lets hope it's all fashion and not the best gun or something.
If it's only fashion stuff it's not worth it.
I think the devs are aiming to do some thing similar to the movie READY PLAYER ONE in the movie world when you play the game ( THE OASIS ) where you can find rare items, weapons , gadgets , etc. and these things you can sell it for real life money to any other player so basically their monetization system is inspired by READY PLAYER ONE
See entropia universe for a better idea.it uses the same system.
Normally it's just fashion else the game will die in a month
I'm sure it's just fashion stuff. "Pay to win" features or anything that can even be misinterpreted as such are usually death sentences for games. Plus, people speed money on cosmetics all the time in video games, I don't see why it'd be different here. What I'm really confused by is how they said something about you could be the only person with a item in the game. If that's true that could very easily become very bad for the game
As a mecha and Transformers fans, I appreciate seeing this. I just like big robots/mechs fighting

Hopefully it isn't a disaster that ruins the whole thing. The idea of having a truly unique mech that only you own sounds pretty cool on paper but we'll see how it works in practice. Something about this idea gives me serious Sword Art Online vibes for some reason, like a possible future where NFTs become digital goods that can be used from one game to another in a larger virtual reality and are unique to the person who owns them.

it's looking dope man!!!!!, in other way if the game uses NFT then wont be on Steam, Steam very clearly said they wont allow any sort of NFT or similar in their platform, shame for this one
Steam will change their mind, don't worry. Epic games have no ban and there are also many decentralised platforms which will gladly accept NFT games. Search flow, enjin, phantasma, cardano, polkadot. Soooooo many blockchains. Their is a whole world within our world that nobody is aware of at the moment. NFTs are about to blow the f up and take over the real world.

@@zettovii1367 The problem is that the balancing of PVE content depends upon how it scales with player capability, which, if the top of the line capability is tied to monetary purchases, means that F2P players or people that don't want to have to engage with the system by buying shit from other players or from the marketplaces run by the studio, will inevitably struggle and suffer as the game's natural balancing outstrips their ability to obtain said resources

Really goes to show the cultural failure that is the Gundam franchise in the West.
Cultural failure gundam is a lot of things but i'm pretty sure failure is not one of them can you explain what you mean
Hmm are you saying something to the like of The West cannot imitate the east when it comes to the mech genre. Well. I somewhat agree. Mechas in Japan have simply been looking great for decades.
Very deep and interesting designs. Designs that withhold so much depth and detail.
Gundam, Marc Ross, and there's literally an overwhelming large mass of content from anime film manga. And everything else to really name I would say.
It's a lot and it's been going on for a long time but in my opinion.
The west has pretty much been stuck in the past when it comes to that genre. It's cool but there's not as much effort when it comes to it. I mean Transformers is Japanese Inspired and that and Power Rangers which.... again originated in the east as Kamen Rider and something else . So idk..im not naming everything because I don't know it all. But I mean most of thwt is true.
Even films like Iron Giant had that generic tin can robot look. So I mean when it comes to Innovating designs and taking things seriously I think The east wins that.
Even if I go beyond mechas the fantasy is deeper and more sophisticated. Its not just some strong guy with a cape who is Infinitly strong its Monkey Kings who can shape-shift who have fought God's and dome all these insane feats in a detailed way.
Each country is different and has an entirely unique way of thinking as well.
@@rhyssuy8361 I'm basically saying that Gundam failed to gain traction here in the West. Although Gundam Wing was popular on Toonami back in 2000, Bandai quickly killed it by bringing the outdated original Gundam series aka Gundam 0079.I rally wish Gundam was recognised as Evangelion and Code Geass, which did a better job at marketing, and is easier for newer viewers to get into.
Think of it this way, A good Mech for in game use may cost you the same amount of real life money as a Used Car, and there is likely no way to enjoy the game until you buy that mech as it will likely start you out in something that can't perform, in an area of space that you can not earn money in. In all likely hood, players will be buying their capitol ships as well, and eventually the planets. Players who own those things will be able to charge players what ever they want to provide services, like shuttling them from place to place, or even charging taxes and fees on hunting locations on worlds they own. In other words, it's shitty Capitalisms. Most true players have learned there lessons about this kind of thing and stay away from it, so chances are this game will fail.
MACROSS DELTA/FRONTIER VIBE!!!! LOVE IT!!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS KIND OF GAME!!!
btw is it gonna be on steam?
Probably not since NFTs are involved. Steam is banning games that deals with crypto.
This is actually the type of NFTs I've been looking forward to. Not the crappy 8bit/gifs/art that are currently for sale at OpenSea.
Oh no...You said 'Transformers' despite the mechs themselves resembling more like a Gundam instead. Typical American's.
Does he sound American??
Not American at all!!!!!
There's M.A.S.S Builder if you want an indie version. Fully customizable weapons and mech appearance.
man, this reminds me of Exteel, back in the day that was my gundam like pvp game.
I really like gundam and I think this is a cool concept, and I actually think the NFT stuff sounds kinda cool, like if you own a mech only you own it, but the fact that theyâre NFTs and you have to pay actual money throws me off. Like, I think it would be better if everyone had a starter mech and then you earn in-game currency and can buy more advanced/personal mechs which there are only a few of or even only one of in the server and you could buy them from other players or a shop or something with the in-game currency rather than real money, cuz then you could also offer trades, like you could trade one mech for a different one with people you meet in game or with friends or whatever
Ohhhh, Just gonna write this one off, the whole NFT thing sounds like a clusterfuck waiting to happen.
Yep.
That robot is soooo big and sooooo entertain!... but how was the fire sounded like? it was like ;"Pew pew pew pew pew"
Dude, please...
This looks very promising, I can't wait to see how it turned out, I am so happy to see a new original mecha game. the only real hang up I have is the Ethereum block chain stuff
this looks so awesome! defintly looking forward for this game!
