    This really put things into perspective for me, as far as how children that age attention is when they are doing a lesson. My daughter is 3 years 7 months and I get frustrated sometimes when she looses attention and points out awesome things that makes the lesson stray. I use to wonder if it was normal, or if she just wasn't focused. Seeing his lesson and the way you handled stuff like that made me realize that it's totally normal. Now the guilt is setting in lol. I 'afterachool' her and I think I get the "she's talkertive and not focused" from her preschool teacher. That's a little scary on their part now that I'm thinking about it. She is currently on the Good and the Beautiful Pre-K Course book lesson 35. Thanks for letting us sit in class with you two.

      Oh wonderful! I'm so happy I could be an encouragement. Don't worry! She's still little so there's plenty of time to give her room to talk and explore.
      Of course they're talkative at that age! That IS scary that the "professionals" don't get that.
      So happy to hear you're taking the time to love and nurture her. :) Way to go!

    What a sweet memory to have. My twin boys just turned 5 and they both talk that much at the same time during every lesson. We are currently working on the K Primer, but after watching this video I feel like they should be doing level K. Thanks for sharing your journey with us!

      Hi Melany! Check out my most recent update video. Level K is wonderful but it does speed up a little in reading. We're still working through it. But Solomon has learned SO MUCH and is so much better in his reading! Just wanted to give you a heads up that it might get a little harder around Unit 2. 😉

      @@PursuingPeace Thank you for letting me know. I'll just wait until we finish the K Primer before moving on.

    Thank you for your video!!! So helpful! Did you use a phonics curriculum for him? I’m trying to find something to help me son with letter names and sounds.

      Hi Catalina! Yes! We used the Letter of the Week program from Confessions of a Homeschooler. Here is a video reviewing that curriculum.

      BUT I think the way they really learned their letter sounds was using simple flashcards. If you check out my Day in the Life video it show us doing that during circle time. Here's the link for that one too.
      czcams.com/video/Uw3KAYidRGY/video.html
      ALSO....we do use The Good and The Beautiful's Prek and Primer along with that. I know it seems like alot. But the Day in the Life video shows how we do it all together and it's not really that much. ;)
      I pray this helps! :) Thanks for watching!

    Hi. Did you do sight word ladders and phonics cards every day even though the lesson didn't ask for it?

    • @PursuingPeace
      @PursuingPeace  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes. Because my boy needed the practice. But my 1st grader is already a great reader so we don't do them everyday for her. So it just depends on the child. 😊

    What do you say or do when your little wants to do it their way? I have been trying to reinforce we have to follow directions but my little guy wants to be funny and do things silly ways ?

    • @PursuingPeace
      @PursuingPeace  Před 4 lety +1

      Oh I come across that a lot! If it doesn't affect them learning the material I'll let them do it how they want. But if I need them to do it a certain way then I tell them "We can do it that way but you need to do it mama's way first." Then they are usually ok with it. 😊
