Old Goa, former capital of Goa, is known for its colonial-era monuments. Old Goa Church is famous in for is Portuguese architecture. Old Goa Tourist Places are must visit if your are visiting Goa.
One of the most iconic landmarks in Old Goa is the Basilica of Bom Jesus Church. This church holds the remains of St. Francis Xavier and is Goa's oldest church. The Se Cathedral in Goa is one of the largest and most important churches in Goa. Located just beside the Se Cathedral is the Church of St. Francis of Assisi. Chapel of St. Catherine was constructed in 1510 in the Baroque architectural style and has a brown and white facade. Church of St. Augustine was originally a pilgrimage site, but with the passage of time it has become an abandoned ruin. Our Lady of the Rosary Church was built between 1544 and 1547 as a Catholic Church dedicated to the Virgin Mary of the Rosary. St. Cajetan Church, named after St. Cajetan of Thiene, is the only example of Italian architecture in Old Goa. Built by Italian Friars of the Theatine Order, the church of St. Cajetan is a Roman Catholic Church. Chapel of Our Lady of Mount is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it is a Roman Catholic Church.
