I grew up in Imphal, surrounded by close and wonderful Meitei friends and the most friendly neighbours, where we coexisted peacefully without divisive thoughts.
However, the rise of Biren Singh and Arambai has fueled hatred between Meitei and Kuki communities. It's crucial to remember our harmonious past before their influence.
We acknowledge the poppy plantation issue in Kuki areas and Kuki leaders are also taking high efforts to combat it.
Illegal immigration is a minor concern with only few thousand and you will also see few Nagas and Meitei are also moving to Manipur after Independence , and shouldn't be used to label all Kuki as illegal immigrants. There is other solution to combat this without hating the whole community.
Let's wake up and recognize that evil leaders are sowing hatred among us.
