My cover of Paul Simon's song American Tune from the album There Goes Rhymin' Simon.
Just a quick bedroom session with my resonator guitar.
The tune is based on the melody of the hymn "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded" (German: "O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden," text by Paul Gerhardt). The common name for this hymn tune is "Passion Chorale." The well-known hymn is itself a reworking of an earlier secular song, "Mein G'müt ist mir verwirret," composed by Hans Leo Hassler.
However, the melody of "American Tune" is best known by modern listeners as a modified version of J.S. Bach's St Matthew Passion, part 1, numbers 21 and 23, and part 2, number 54. - Hudba

would be easy to play for me i would say, but never with that precision, Your singing is more precise in key, melodyne however it measured heuristically said to me that each time a verse/refrain comes i miss one note by a quarter tone at least when i dont concentrate, my mother could distinguish here pitch up to 5 cent, i could only do it up to 7 cent, and my black neighbour has appearingly already much more real talent so He could even imitate bird voices, i have another cigarette right now, You don't have that problem, and my timing often i cannot accomodate and catch myself so easy, so You are better, i do it sloppy and rough, just like in many professions i would fail much rather, this song is about working each day and motivation for "hope", i might not (want to) believe this about myself, but You don't fail even Here so much in this video?! however, when "i" take not that much, not that much to afford from (me)?! not envious, just You are still better and precise, easy to play for anyone still, but You then still are here better "talented"?! admitted, but it is not my field so i don't care about this anymore much anymore?! You are probably still not the best, but definitely better than me, but im not envious (anymore)?! but some stuff to pick made up without real musical talent should maybe not get lost again "i" said "modestly" and still me to lazy to even tab it out?! and already forgotten how "me"?!
