Three Places in Massachusetts was written as a Christmas gift for Noah in 2018. Each of the three movements (Salisbury, Tanglewood, and Townsend) reminisces on a shared experience. “Tanglewood: An early August day. A road trip out to Tanglewood. Bernstein’s 100th. Huddled under a single umbrella on the lawn, soaked from the rain, watching John Williams conduct.”
Performed on the recital Three Raccoons in a Trenchcoat at the NMRHS PAC on July 24, 2024.

I can't begin to explain all the good feelings around this piece and performance: the memories I have with Joe that inspired it, his gift in writing it for me, and the opportunity to perform a movement with him in our former high-school for friends and family... Thank you so much Joe for your unconditional friendship and pushing me to be a better musician. 🔶
