We were planning on getting a toy hauler to live in down here, but we couldn’t find any for 80-90k that were the floorplan we wanted.
It is definitely more truck than we need but we may go with a heavier RV in the future so we made the jump. Our 2019 SRW F350 Lariat didn’t have enough payload for this RV. It was low for some reason.

We knew we were just under payload on the last truck and it took forever before we could order one in Race Red. We couldn’t find one used. Now we have plenty of payload! I wish more people would pay attention to the numbers!

Our pin weight was way more than what they said for the specs. Our camper is pre-covid before the prices went way up. It still looks relatively new after towing it around 35,000 miles!

@@craigwest5254 I have a lot recorded and just haven’t made them yet. It’s been a rough experience but I will say that Grand Design repaired it even though it was out of warranty. We put some videos on our Instagram and our Facebook page.
Yes that’s why we did it. We had the F-350 SRW and turning radius was tricky. We decided since we were going dually we would just jump to the 450, that way we could pull whatever we wanted, have the bigger brakes, and drive the f-450 to work and park anywhere. We have zero issues in the city with this truck.
@aaronphillips2728 maybe a little bit stiffer, but we still love it because towing with it is amazing and the turning radius makes it so much better as a daily driver compared to the SRW F-350.

We put about 800 on before we had a trip planned and towed the first time. We hear 1000 or we hear tow right away. We did what we could to break it in before towing.
It was 100 degrees out, so they really just peeled off easily with fingers and a plastic razor blade. They used a blow torch to heat up areas that were more sticky. Then to clean up the residue, they used a mixture of denatured alcohol and water.
@moriorinvictus6522 yes that’s how bad ours was. It looked really good naked! Wish I had peeled them off sooner! Naked is better than chipped decals with white showing.
Yeah I ordered my Ford F-450 limited over a year ago and still Ford tells me they don’t have a build date scheduled yet……. Total BS Ford pushes out smaller dealerships and doesn’t communicate with people.
The camper has a GVWR of 16,800 lbs, but the pin weight is heavy and was right at the payload of our F-350. We have moved everything we can out of the front of the RV, but have a complete off grid solar system in front with inverters and multiples Battleborns up there so it’s always going to have a heavy pin weight, especially if we don’t have a heavy toy in back. Having our gas golf cart in back lightens the pin weight considerably!
That’s ok. Smaller campers are definitely easier to tow. I think that’s why there are so many varieties, shapes, and sizes. We got this size to haul our mountain bikes, e-bikes, paddle boards, and still have big beds for our adult and teenaged kids, too.
Ugliest Super Duty since the 7.3 front end was released. Copied Chevy with the side and tail gate steps. Interior is hideous now. Just not sure what Ford was thinking.
Well we respect your opinion. We have gotten more compliments on this truck than the other 3 Race Red Fords we’ve owned. People stop us everywhere we go to comment on how awesome the truck looks.

@@keevs5adventures we have not been to the scales, the trailer has a full weight of about 17000 pounds and the truck has air bags. The trucks payload is around 3000
It’s really easy to go to a Cat scale at Love’s. They even have an app you can use to make it super easy. We roll onto the 3 plates of the scale and put the axles on each plate. We get that weight. Then we pull forward and drop the trailer right in front of the scale and circle around with the truck to weigh it with our stuff and passengers and no trailer. It was eye opening! We are able to see if we are over on payload or even on axle ratings. The rear axle rating is another number to look at.
It's not for putting on your 5th wheel I have a 2017 ford f-250 and I haul furniture with it in the bed and when I have to strap down the load I have to move all around the bed and that new step on 2023 fords will be useful for me because I have to climb on the tire and I loose balance very quickly so I do like the new step@@keevs5adventures

We have been on a long road trip and we have to keep filling up our DEF at every stop. It is saying it has 500 miles left but the tank shows full.

I have a 6.0 2004 first gen lariat with tow package not a dully and it strong so I can imagine a new 6.7 dually will to that like nothing.

So we were told we could tow a 20,000 pound Cyclone with our F-250 when we were shopping for Toy Haulers, so we can affirm that is what is happening.

Our payload is 4934 lbs with all the options. Our 2019 F350 SRW payload was only 3193 lbs.

If it is for work I would get the F450 because the turning radius is way better so it is easier to drive and park.

Have you been to the scales? What’s your payload? Our Mo has a much heavier pin weight than was listed. It was right at the payload of our F-350 SRW.
