Everything he said in this interview (both part 1 and 2) are really only true of like HI/CA I feel like. Being in Florida no one is really aggressive about stuff no one fights over waves, its kind of just "you get some and you let some go" now if you get snaked maybe someone will give you some words but no fights. and then in part 2 he says something along the lines of "you skated and surfed in the 80's and thats gone now" again in florida almost all surfers are skaters too. It goes flat for too long here to not do something else and skating kind of fills that void.
Colby Riviere its the worst in australia man, every single wave is sacred so youve got to shred every wave any mistakes and youre chewed out by the swarming locals immediately and if you know the basics like what your doing out there (not dropping in or getting in the way of others) your fine in California unless you just blow every wave lol
Yeah, anyone who says Kelly Slater is boring, judges the entire surfing spectrum over shitty crazy Venice beach, a place, while fun to have some beers, is the last place I would wanna surf. Alex should broaden his mind some. One need only look at Dogtown and how they said Venice was hardcore.... So Alex, maybe let your mind go and try to experience some things as a whole. Im from florida and live in Newps and I've been welcomed everywhere kindly as long as they know im able to respectably surf and also not be a dick. And fla is friendlier as surfers. But Alex resembles a guy who has this one 15 min experience and he probably came out thinking he could rip and they said get out of the way.

He has a point, skateboarding is just stuck in piece right now.
I don't see much of an evolution to it, new generation kind of follows the old generation but as of yet nothing eye catching or trend moving. Hopefully skateboarding doesn't die out.
+Kenny Yoshitoya Fuck no, it will never die out. With the level of gnarlyness that occurs today, I can see why it couldn't evolve much further but creativity is endless so shit will always go down
It's the business that are destroying skaters, the simpleton mindset of making them all robots. Creativity but style is, there's not that many new skaters out there with their own unique style. Just one chap biting off the next one
