    Never heard this song before now. It is simply beautiful, super job by the oaks, old long beard did so great as usual, and man what lyrics, super great song witting. Whoever wrote that did a wonderful job.The oaks are like so many other greats who kept it up, just got better, like Gene Watson, T. Graham,The Gatlins, I wont try to name them all, but so many. I wont thank Bill Anderson for making a lot of it possible. Gotta love Bill Anderson, he is such a remarkable man.I love all those hours of vedieos he made happen for us!

    BTW, these are *the* OAK RIDGE BOYS here Erudite......#1: they can sing it any bloody way they want to, #2: it's not exactly like they're @ Radio City Music Hall with the Boston Pops. They're with people they're familiar with....longtime friends, & others. #3: there's much worse sounding stuff around. If anyone's talking about "talking" the lyrics.....ever heard of a genre called "rap?" #4: there's no one twisting your arm to listen !!!!

      Yes. And Moses was 40 when he left Egypt, stayed in the desert 40 years, then wandered with the Children of Israel for 40 years and died at 120. 40 is a recurring number in the Bible. There are probably more 40s I'm not thinking of right now.

    there not holiness but they sing it good. I wonder what they would sound like under the anointing of god .. they can get there by lining up to the word of God king James style 😉 just saying

    • @gingerpeters1383
      @gingerpeters1383 Před 8 lety +2

      Autumn Allen: King James style ? Why should them or anyone "line up with" a translation that was **commissioned😞 in the 1600's** for King James of England, and HIS people & THEIR language of THEIR day??? It was the end result of countless previous translations...not a new effort. You can't possibly believe Jesus & his apostles spoke "thee's, thou's, sheweth's, goeth's, & doeth". Jesus spoke Aramaic !!! Jesus' name wasn't even pronounced "Jesus". It was pronounced "Yesh-u-ah". There are other modern translations made directly from the original texts. And, in case you still have a problem with modern translations from the original manuscripts VS a translation into OLD ENGLISH that was not only the result of hundreds of translations over many centuries, consider 2 Timothy 3:16 & 17-- (16) ALL scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. (17) So that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

      Ginger Peters it says in the bible that you shouldn't take or add anything to the bible. Revelation 22:19 and Proverbs 30:6.

    • @gingerpeters1383
      @gingerpeters1383 Před 8 lety +2

      +Waggoner Outdoors : It does say that. But it doesn't mean what you are implying. Translating those ancient manuscripts is problematic no matter which way you go about it. Translating the old Hebrew into the English spoken in **England** in the **1600's** has ADDED more text than there was to begin with !!! All through modern texts are these footnotes that say "some manuscripts also say ------------------------"
      But since you dragged out that tired old argument, I'll tell you a couple more things. Old Hebrew DOES NOT translate well into English (of any era) because Old Hebrew is a language that has many, many words that have more than 1 meaning. Those words can have 3-5 different meanings. There are lots of figurative language in the Old Hebrew manuscripts that are a challenge for language EXPERTS !!! So what if antiquated King James VERSION (that means King James of England commissioned a version for him & his people to understand. All Bibles til then were ALL in **LATIN**) so what if Old Hebrew translated into ***OLD ENGLISH*** makes it a lot longer & translating it into modern English gets to the point quicker? It's a moot point when you hear the message of 2Timothy 3:16-17----- 16) All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
      There it is.....in all translations.... all scripture IS God-breathed... whether it's in the rambling, elaborate style of Old English, or the familiar, concise ways of modern English, quoting his word, "all scripture is God-breathed".

      autumn allen What do you mean by "they're not holiness". Are you saying the Oak Ridge Boys aren't gospel or Christian? Turn off that country radio a little bit and get out of the 80s. Either go a little further back or just come right to 2016 and look up The Oak Ridge Boys. You'll find much more gospel, than country. All these people in this video are Christian Vocalists!!! That goes for the audience as well!

      The Bible says make a joyful noise. It is not our place to judge their hearts or the
      meaning behind the songs they sing. They have beautiful voices and are good men.
