I have been following your mom for a few years. I found her while I was stuck in bed from my own cancer treatments. You have a great attitude about all this so far. I'm very proud of you. I found your mom’s CZcams channel on one of my sleepless nights due to phantom pain in my imaginary feet. I lost both of my legs in a horrific trucking accident 13 years ago. Anyway I have been watching your mom’s channel for 3 years or so now and I fell in love with her entire family.
When you announced you had cancer I cried my heart out and even as I type this I’m the tears are falling. Just remember you and your family have a whole world of people that are praying for all of you. Hang in there sweetie and kick cancer’s ass because I know you are strong enough to do it.

I really hope that you have told your professors about your situation. Many of your professors do have the ability to adjust the weighting of your assignments, tests, labs, mid terms, etc. The worst thing that could happen is they will say “no, I can’t do anything about your marks” but if you’re lucky they can adjust things for you. Remember some of your courses do build on each other from year to year. BUT, not all of them do. Some of them are just a one off and if you don’t do well in a given course it won’t really matter. You aren’t really going to want to repeat them. Nothing worse than being kicked when you’re down. Speaking to your professors won’t hurt and it might help. Sending you love and praying for you and your family. 🥰

I had a prof tell me after the fact, when I opened up about how my mental health had gone downhill due to stress, that he had been worried something was wrong but wasn’t in a position to butt in which I totally understand. Unfortunately it was too late and my GPA took the hit.
DJ, unfortunately, many professors don't care, even though you've communicated your situation with them. When I was almost done with my masters degree in nursing education, my mom passed away. The professor refused to allow me a couple of extra days to finish my paper. Sad. Anyway, I met the deadline! Warm hugs from Alabama ❤️
I was thinking about your exams. It reminded me when 3 weeks before my paper was due I fell face first on asphalt at work. The research paper was my whole grade. Broke my glasses,damaged my face. Could not type. My professor gave me an extention. It was hard recovering and going to school.. Do what is best for you. Classes will be there later. Does your wish list include audio books. I found sometimes it is easier to listen than holding a book or kindle. Prayers and blessings.
Additionally go to your dean and the supports the uni provides. Some have more power to help but you have to find the right people yourself usually.
I realize that while this was posted less than an hour ago, most likely you are in hospital recovering from the surgery. Been keeping you showered in prayer. Am sure if things are really rough for you, your mom will share. I know, it...will get better.

I think it is amazing that you’re documenting all of this. I’m in college for film and editing so I love documenting stuff and making videos. I recently lost my grandpa and although he didn’t die from cancer, one of the causes of his health decline was that he had rapidly spreading bone cancer among other issues that caused him to pass along. Praying for you and your family. Hope all treatments and procedures go well.❤

Hi, Jess! I just want to say I think your choice to sit for exams but not stress or cram for them is a really smart one. First of all, whatever you pass, you just cross off your list and move on - don't look back, don't regret, don't think about it any more. And any you don't, well, as I've pointed out to my kid many times, there is NO TIME LIMIT on completing your education. The [x number of] years people usually aim for is just completely arbitrary, and there is no reason you have to reach any one goal at any one time.
I think focusing on what's most important - your mental and physical health, your friends and family, your sweet Piper, and any other facets of your support system - those are where your energy should be focused at this time, which is what you seem to be doing.
Anyway, I just wanted to throw in there that I agree wholeheartedly with your choice. And add one more voice of support to the pile. Hugs to you and the whole family 💜
I agree! You'll be glad to have those exams off your mind while you have so much else going on. It also shows your thoughtfulness in making the best decisions for you.

Jess, I think you're still in your second year? Don't let those marks get to you - year 3 and 4 matter, and you're a smart cookie who can overcome this when you're ready to go back. If grad school is in your future, this is one of those things you use as a talking point in applications to show your ability to overcome adversity and use for building resiliency (even though we see you and know you're acing that department). In the end, it's just a couple of classes. If no grad school... C's get degrees, girl! Learning isn't only about what you pick up from classes - you're well ahead of so many people with all you learn from your parents, on the farm, and through work. Glad to see you're taking this head on, and thanks for taking us along on your journey. I am sure there is so much more going on in the background that we don't see, so continue to be kind and gentle to yourself.

Jess, please put together a list of snacks, treats, skincare items and other comfort items you like or would like to try that you might not buy for yourself. Cancer treatments really affect the whole body and any pampering and things to entire you to eat will be a huge help when you are feeling less than normal. Peppermint and ginger can help with your nausea especially when they haven't yet prescribed a anti nausea medication. Even just smelling peppermint essential oil which you can apply to your forehead and temples and has the added benefit of helping to prevent headaches. As with everything what works for some people doesn't always work for others which is why having different options to try can really help. Include some unscented items because some times the treatments can make you hyper sensitive to various scents or smells. What are your favorite colors, sizes, etc. You might want some gift cards to your favorite store or Amazon because holding heavy books can be a problem and having a way of adding new titles to your Kindle along with Audible books might come in handy for those not so great days. You have a huge group of people praying for you and you will beat cancers butt. Sending you lots of healing Reiki energy and prayers. From one survivor to another.💜

Reading is such a beautiful outlet. My dad gave me a book when I was 17 yrs old. It opened up a whole new world. Now at 59 all my interest have changed as far as what I read. But, I will be forever grateful for the gift my dad introduced me into. 📚

Hello from northern BC! I’m a 64 yr with a large family of grown up kids and grandkids. My hubby and I love your channel and your family! I’m not big for making comments but I just wanted to send my love and prayers to you all❤ Jess you are a brave girl and me and my family are rooting for you. My oldest daughter battled anal cancer for almost 2 years - during quarantine. She is a fierce warrior but a gentle soul. Thankfully she is in remission! Sandy , my 11 year old grandson dropped by the other day and we were watching your channel with ewes birthing lambs and suddenly realized maybe this may be too graphic for my grandson. Nope he loved it and said “ Cool - they just poop them out and there’s a baby sheep” I told his dad and he laughed so hard. We figure he’ll be the star of his next sex ed class😅

Narrow trachea is congenital. It tends to run in families and a parent with it or close relatives should not be bred IMO as it rarely grows out.
You have an amazing outlook and its the best way to be practical, well informed and with loads of support..You got this!!

I totally understand about keeping doctors in the loop! I bought a 5 subject notebook and every specialist have their section. Some of my dr’s will even write notes back and forth! We have watched you grow up on youtube. You're like one of our family to your moms subscribers . A neice we see every so often. Some of us are old enough to be your grandparent. The only way we can show our support is by liking your vlogs. You have our prayers and support though this. It's good that your saving your eggs. Even if you change your mind later, you now have that option. Medicine has gone so far in the last decade. Cancer used to be a death sentence.....it is slowly turning into another curable illness.

You have the cutest puppy -- she must be a lot of fun and cuddles. We have a 13 year old Chinese Crested Hairless Dog. I remember his puppy days -- lots and lots of running around, throwing squeeky toys and playing with his brother Max (Powderpuff Chinese Creste Dog i.e. with a beautifull double coat of hair). The boys were pretty busy and very loving -- we also had a rescue cat named Gem who kept all of us in line. We went to a local Pet Smart to check out the cats and she reached out of the cage and grabbed my husband's coat. We'd always had Siamese cats before but ... not this time -- we got an almost feral kitten who was very, very busy her first year with us. All of us knew Gem was the boss! We've been lucky to have pets in our 33 years together. They make us laugh and they give a lot of joy and love. I couldn't have children so we're aunties and uncles and have our own fur babies. I have been one of your mother's viewers for a few years -- when my husband first told me about how good her vlog was -- I was puzzled -- why would I want to watch sheep -- the answer of course is the sheep are only a small part of watching your mother's vlog. She is an amazing woman who cares about her family and flock and friends and more. Watching her has been wonderful -- she is interesting and I've learned a lot about lots of things. Your father is funny -- a hard working, talented man -- who occassionally shows up and lets us see his humour and love for your mother -- prize episodes -- when they went on vacation and he got on her board and sunk both of them -- and of course the cute wiggle in his new hunting suit. You are going thru a very difficult time, but have good support from your family, friends and vloggers. I love to see your pleasure in reading -- books are a large part of our lives. Hey pretty lady! I am respecting your wishes about unsolicited advice. I have had 17 major surgeries between 2016-2019 in Toronto, many surgeons/doctors involved too. Just a friendly little tip, whenever you check in with an office, ask the receptionist to have each doctor/surgeon listed in your chart to have all chart notes, surgical/procedure notes sent to. That way it becomes automatic and you don't have to remember everything. Also, any time you get test results, procedures done etc, you can request a paper copy for yourself. I did that and kept it in a folder that I took with me to every appointment. That way if anything didn't get sent, you have your own copy with you that you can share with whomever you like. It also comes in handy if, God forbid, you ever had to go to emergency you have all important info with you. I used to be a nurse and I can attest that sometimes our charts aren't always complete or up to date in our provincial computer system, especially if we have to go to another hospital. Some hospitals also use different computer systems and having your own copy makes things go smoother and faster. Not telling you what to do by any means, just passing along a couple of tips that can be helpful, if you choose. No biggie. Keep kicking cancers butt! We all believe in you! Jessica, I read my first book cover to cover when I was 30 years old. One summer I decided I was going to read a book and that was all there was to it. I read "Dances with wolves" It was so amazing and such an easy read. I haven't been able to stop reading since then. I had lots of catching up to do. Enjoy your new Hobby.
