If you shift+parent your VFX layer to the 3D null it will locate it exactly at the same position as the 3D null. Then you don't have to manually position it.
I realize this was a tracking tutorial but couldn’t help but notice the shadow catcher/holdout floor layer under it in in the final render. Did you build those out in c4D or do you have a native workflow for shadow catchers?
