    I am a 1911 Wilson Combat guy but for my polymer pistols, all I have are Glocks because they are perfection to me! I like the fact that every Glock is largely the same - they got it right and there’s no reason to change. If you bought the PPQ, it changed completely, the Beretta APX also changed completely- the fact that Glock hasn’t changed much and still outsells most guns, is used by many military and law enforcement agencies (and the Navy Seals) is enough for me!

    @The Even Steven Channel - I wouldn't say it's the best stock G19, people talk about how the triggers are better or even the best. That's not true, gen 5 triggers are normally better than the gen 4 depending on how you pick a gen 4. I've felt some horrible gen 4 triggers but right next to it another gen 4 G19 can have an amazing trigger far better than the gen 5. Same with the gen 5, some triggers are normally good but I've felt some horrible gen 5 triggers. In my opinion, the gen 5 Glock is really just a waste of money, the gen 2 & 3 Glocks had the best triggers by far. Why spend an extra $150 on a new Glock that does nothing the older ones can't do? Also the sear spring assembly on the gen 5 really suck, the old ones are much easier to work with.
    Glock needs to do a complete overhaul on the gen 6 and start over, Glock should start by hiring "Johnny Glock" and buy the patent from Timney Trigger on their amazing ground breaking drop in trigger, and Glock should make those triggers the standard. Also Glock should make metal magazines so they can fit more rounds or make the grips more ergonomic for small handed shooters. There's so much Glock can do to make them better, they just flat out refuse to.

      Do more research. Gen 5s are sick. Lots of new internal changes for longevity & wear too. Watch small arms solutions on the gen 5, knows his stuff

    • @reachblowsdick7222
      @reachblowsdick7222 Před 2 lety +1

      @@forestsimon9326 - My gen4 Glock 19 has well over 100K rounds after 7 years, and so far it's still working. So let me know when someone with a gen 5 Glock 19 hits that with the same reliability. I've fired both gen4 & gen5 G19 & G17 side by side with identical accuracy. It all depends on which certain Glock you pick, some gen 4 have horrible triggers, some gen 5 have horrible triggers, and they both have their great triggers here and there. My G19 which I carefully selected among hundreds, has a better trigger than the average gen 5. Also a bad gen 4 trigger is easily fixed with a Timney Trigger, that trigger is better than anything Glock or a third party trigger has ever made, the only thing that can compete with it is a top of the line Johnny Glock trigger but they're way more expensive. A gen 5 will cost about $120 to $150 more than a gen4, why not just spend the $150 on a Timney Trigger to equal a gen5 budget but have a far superior trigger, or just get a used gen4 for about $400 and the Timney Trigger will still be less costly than a stock gen5.
      Or what I did, just pick a good gen4 and practice so it doesn't matter what trigger you have. If people are really going to spend and extra $100 on a Glock simply because it has ambi-slide catch which the right handers will NOT use anyways, that's just stupid and more about flashing a "hey I got a gen5, Look At MEEE!"

    • @forestsimon9326

      @@reachblowsdick7222 i have a thrashed gen 4 with tens of thousands of rounds through it. Slide is worn down to hell. My gen 4 19 is fav. But it doesn't mean I'll ignore the internal improvements of the gen 5s(springs & parts ex..) youre only focused on superficial external changes. Again check out small arms solutions he goes over just a few of the new INTERNAL changes. Nothing wrong with my gen 4s, but picked up a gen5 17 & 34 with the stock 3.5 lb trigger. Couldntbe happier. Try the gen 5 34 fs its the ultimate full size stock glock in my opinion. Glock triggers wear in great after a few thousand rounds anyway. And u think a gen 5 glock is flashy lol?

    • @reachblowsdick7222
      @reachblowsdick7222 Před 2 lety +1

      @@forestsimon9326 - I shot a gen5 G34 with a red dot before, it was nice and felt like any other previous gen G34, nothing special. The internal improvements on the gen5 from what I've personally seen were the plastic rod through the sear spring which is a PAIN IN THE ASS to disassemble. The plunger is now similar to the ones on the Sig 365, what I call the speed bump plungers, which should be an improvement. Ambi slide catch which I don't care since I'm not lefty.
      The removal of the duel frame rods to just one like the gen1 & gen2, which means Glock went backwards, the removal of the grooves which I've never had an issue with, again the gen5 going backwards. The trigger guard has been slightly raised to allow for higher access to the grip, the rear beaver tail has been modified so you hand webbing gets higher and flattened out the rear back a little, the grips supposedly are meant to be slightly (barely noticeably) smaller for small handed people, I personally don't care since the previous gens where not giving me issues there and Glocks are generally very small guns, the G21/20 grips fit my hands very nicely.
      The coatings on the slide are better for anti-rust and scratches, my gen4's slide coating seems to be doing fine with minimal wear and just cosmetics since the reliability has not been affected at all (100K rounds, still going, remember?). The trigger "shark fin" seems to have gone back to the older gen3 and before by removing the "nipple" on the side, again Glock going backwards. They now have front serrations and MOS options but racking a gun from the business end is pretty stupid and dangerous, and I personally don't like red dots on pistols, they take up too much space, cost battery money, if anything touches the red dot it messes with the zeroing-in, not all red dots co-witness, I find iron sights quick and easy without worries.
      Bigger mag wells, that's good but I mag change pretty fast with the older gens so I don't care. The gen5 has a spring for the slide lock instead of a pin on the old gens. Same plastic sights so Glock stayed in the past right there. The gen4 G43 actually was a pre gen5 prototype as parts on the G43 have strikingly similarities to the gen5 full size Glocks. Just like how the gen2 & 3 big boy Glocks like the 21 & 20 in the early 90's were using trigger bars with nippled "shark fins" and inner trigger frame "polymer croppings" that the gen4 regular Glocks later started using. The gen5 is basically recycled parts from gen2, gen3 and some gen4.
      I know there's more but that's off the top of my head. Also if you think the gen5 G34 is sweet, you should try the gen2 G17L, by far the flattest softest smoothest 9mm Glock to date. Also the gen2 G17L was known for having the best Glock trigger ever made, even Taran Butler said the G17L had a better trigger than any gen5, and that guy knows more about Glocks than Small Arms Solution.

Theres a reason the internal parts on gen5s arent interchangeable with the previous gens cuz they made so many changes. Dig into the slide and springs and you'll see. All the external changes are nice but i dont really care either. Curious to see how the gen 5s hold up overtime compared to the older models. Whats your favorite glock?

    I am not going to take away the fact that Gaston Glock designed the most amazing innovative handgun in modern times, he was a genius!
    With that said, once the Glock patent expired, other high quality striker-fired polymer frame handguns are being produced by other-than-Glock manufacturers. And so, Glock has been dethroned.
    Many die-hard Glock loyalists refuse to accept other platforms, like the Walther PDP, the H&K VP9, the CZ P10, the Canik METE SFT, the Beretta APX, the Sig Sauer P320, the S&W MP 2.0, the Stoeger STR-9S Combat, the Arex Delta, the IWI Masada, and many others excellent, superb combat handguns competing with the Glock, with some of them better, notoriously excelling the Glock model.
    Again, nothing against Glock, I like it very much, but Glock isn't the "king" anymore. Accept changes.

      Ive shot at least 2 dozen striker fired pistols and some function better than others, would still choose a glock 19 in situations
      had hiccups with fn 509 tac and CZ p10c which are pretty damn popular
      ppq/pdp high bore sight doesnt suit me also if someone grabs your slide trigger doesnt function(gotta rerack)
      doesnt matter who makes what it all boils down to if you know, you know.
      My glocks have been shot enough to proven themselves reliable in a scenario where i need to defend myself or my family.
