This guy is a true vallalar andavar Adimai..... He is speaking about thiruarutpa for more than 20 years.... What we see here in youtube is just a pinch of what he has spoken about sanmargam in past years....... A true existing gem who works for sanmargam without any expectation...... People should realise that and try to like him... A true inspiration for vallalar followers...... He gives satsang in Salem everymonth and people come across the corners of tamilnadu.....he never takes anything in return for what he gives to us......this happens only in Sathya sanmargam.......

With great respect to the speaker ayya, i don't think he has comprehended Saiva Siddhantham properly and some information that he has talked about Siddhantham is out right wrong. I would recommend those interested to read Siddhantham themselves and understand it. I would kindly ask Ayya to talk about Vallalar's teaching in depth rather than indulge in comparisons. Siva Siva

1.In sitthandam, the goal is to become Shiva. So, actually siddhantis follow manikavasagar and thirumoolar. If you further, read siddhanam this is really explained well. So, ayya saying soddhanthis didn't accept manikavasagar or thirumoolar is wrong
2. Also, siddhantis believe that god is all prevailing, sarvavyapi. So god is everywhere.
Vetragi vinagi - thevaram
Meaning: you're not and alos you're everything.
So, ayya saying siddhanthi don't believe in god is in everything and everywhere is also wrong.

In fact thirumoolar(one of the 63 nayanmars) already talked about sanmargam. Saying that's one way to achiev god.
Basically what Vallar said like jothi, anbe Sivam and kollamai was already siddhantam philosophy. Only thing is vallalar stressed on food and caste.
In saivam, we don't really stress on food. Cause for us, even non vegetarian should be able to reach god.
Same for caste. Even though, you're a casteist it's ok, you can achieve god.
But, of course, siddhantam teaches about being pure, the more pure the better, in fact sanmargam is just an extreme version of siddhanta.
Siddhanta is for everyone. It's like a university.
Sanmargam is only for few people. It's like a specialist course.
But siddhantam can stay without sanmargam, but sanmargam needs siddhantam for it's theory.
Most of sanmargam theory, like mupporul unmai, 36 tatthuvangal, 8 characteristics of Shiva and god's sarvavyapi is all mentioned in siddhanta. So, sanmargi needs siddhantam for theory. But, siddhantam don't need sanmargam for theory or even practical.
Siddhanthis call it taan aduvaathal (or sivoham) meaning seevan becomes Sivam. And this is achieved, when soul doesn't get birth.
Sanmargam calls it, saaga Kalai. But remember, to become deathless also means to become birthless. Both are same. Only, someone whose not dead can become not being born again.
In siddhantam, to reach God or to get sivaam tanmai(to become like Shiva) you have to loose the body, so technically you are still dying.
We can see this in vallalar life, he left the body to mix with god. Vallar was talking about oli udambu(light body). This is equivalent to mukti.
Also, thiruvadi of Shiva is considered to become Shiva.
Thiruvadiye sivaamavathe kaanen + thirumoolar
Meaning: thiruvadi becomes Shiva.
In siddhantam, thiruvadi means VA(vagaram) or thiruvarul. So, in order to become Sivam, you need Thiruvarul or thiruvadi.
Now this Thiruvadi is given to soul by Shiva. How? He takes three forms to give soul this Thiruvadi.
1. Aruvam - light form
2. Aruvurivam - with tadatharupa (snake, moon and ganga), this is the Shiva, saivaite pray in temple
3. Uruvam - in a guru form( in human form)
All these are Shiva, but according to souls like, he comes in different form. Some soul, like human. Some like Shiva and some like formless. According to the souls like he comes and gives grace.
Also, another mistake by ayya saying, only vallalar achieved this saaga kaalai. Lol. This is highly eronous. You can't literally take a saints song and interpret it. You need to understand the meaning and interpret, not word by word interpretation.
For instance, in thiruvasagam, manikavasagar says, muuvaram, mupathu mukkodi thevarum, munivarum, yaavarum kaana sivaperumaan, en ullam pugunthan.
It literally means, nobody has even seen Shiva, only seen by me. Now, does that mean nobody before manikavasagar have seen Shiva? No. This is wrong translation
The real meaning of the song is, Shiva is rare, even to many people, and becomes it's rare, I'm very grateful. It shows manikavasagar is grateful to see Shiva.
That's how you need to interpret, not the words. So, that how you need to interpret vallalar. When he says even gods haven't seen him, it means he's very rare and I'm grateful.
If you go by word to word translation. It means only manikavasagar and Vallar and some saints achieved Shiva. This is wrong. In reality it's hard to tell how many souls have become Shiva
In reality, Shiva is beyond words and thoughts, so to say someone has understood God or seen God fully is wrong. Shiva is beyond mind and logic. You can't understand. You can only feel the bliss.
The moment you start to describe with words, it becomes contradictory.
Ulagallam unarthu otharke aariyavan - periya puranam
Meaning: even if you get bliss from Shiva, you can't explain the bliss.
Ulagellam unarthu means at bliss soul gets sarvavyapi, it can sense (unarnthu) entire existence (ulagellam).
Otharke aariyavan means, when they explain(otharku) their experiences to others it becomes hard to explain(aariyavan)
This is because logic is one of the 36 tatthuvangal. So, when we use logic to explain god with words this is not appropriate to describe Shiva. Shiva is Nathaadeetham, beyond 36 tatwas. Buddhi or logic is one of the tatwas.
This is like to measure a mountain using a weight scale. You cannot, cause you need a different tool to measure a mountain not a weight scale. It's like that, logic is not a tool to explain god.
It's an xperience of soul.
Also, ayyas understanding of sanmargam also wrong, ayya said God in incomplete as he's brokes into souls at same time ayya says god is complete.
If ayya says god is souls then this is vedantam, meaning everything is brahmam.
If ayya says god is complete and different from soul, this is siddhantam where they have three eternal things pathi, pasu and pasam.
Ayya must first get clarification whether he's talking about vedantam or siddhantam.
But from vallalars teaching, Vallar agrees with siddhantam where he says soul and god are different.
@@thayalanravi Very thank you for typing this comment. "Ulagaellam unarnthu.." - I thought it as a different meaning. But what you said seems right. But I interpreted it as "Difficult to experience him and sing his glory", I thought othuthal means, sing or read his glory. So if one really experienced, God by his grace, then he will be singing his glory all the time, this is not said by me, but Tattuvaraya(another saint who most forgot). But your interpretation is also correct only. One can never tell that experience, its always said as Athita or Anubhava Athitha porul said by Vallalar as Anbhavathitha porul in Agaval.
I too think the same as whatever you said. And very glad to see someone learned about these topics, since people don't read scriptures, they get misguided by thirdparty's listenings.
I think that to realize God, one has to drop the 36 Tattvas by practice and practicing meditation, where standing as pure awareness, in that state only, one receives the grace of God, otherwise not possible. Because all the saints/siddhas asked to quiten the mind and transcend it. Otherwise there is no liberation for soul. I have read ShivaRahasya and Yoga Vasistha, but not very proficient in it or I m not an expert in those things. But both suggest to do Yoga and take control of the mind and grab the attention inward to see God in one's soul.
And Vallalar, in his Perupadesam, said the Mahamantra and its meaning as "periya dhayavudaya arivae purana inbamaam, athu opatra perunthayavu udaya paer arivaaam". I interpreted as "Higher compassion is complete bliss, which is the infinite knowledge(God) which has infinite unique compassion". What is your interpretation of this line in Vallalar's perupadesam.
If one practice compassion, like said in the above mahamantra, one will surely attain the end bliss is what said by Vallalar. For this, he also showed pramana from Thayumanvar's Karunakara kadavul pathigam, in which the song starts as "Santhamum Vedhamozhi yaathondru patrin, athu thaan vanthu mutrum" - which means, Vedas always says that whatever one holds steadily, only it will be ended in That(God). I m not sure if my interpertation is right.
I like to know your interpretation of this lines,
So if one steadily keeps one object in mind, then the practice will always ends in God is also agreed in Yoga Vasistha and many sciptures and puranas. Anyway one pointedness of mind, makes the soul experience the bliss of God initself. If we see buddhism also, there also compassion is very attributed to Buddha Nature, eventhough buddhist's has some different views on self. But I see compassion as a universal thing in all religions. Because God is God only if he save souls, if he don't have compassion to help beings, then no one going to worship him. Yoga vasistha defines true worship of God as seeing God in's one soul is the true worship.
But the secret is, as said by Thirumoolar, seeva becomes Siva, by this intense tapas, the jeeva looses its malas and acquires the nature of Siva and finally it completely becomes him and even the body also doesn't remains for such Saints. Saints who have merged into Satchitananda afaik is Chidambara Swamigal, Vallalar, Kumaradevar and in some other religions like Padmasambhava, Mahavir etc.
Kumaradevar who is a Veerashivite and also a jeeva muktan, wrote in his SuthaSadagam about soul not even leaving the body. But I m yet to study it deep as the verses are little bit tough to read.
