- A look at the Great Western Railway 1400 Class (originally 4800 class), featuring 1450 in action with auto trailers at its current home of the Severn Valley Railway and on visits to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, Llangollen Railway, Didcot Railway Centre and Great Central Railway.
We also see 1420 being shunted at the South Devon Railway and 1466 on shed at the Didcot Railway Centre.

fun fact: in the RWS, Oliver has a faded number on his buffer beam, that number being 1420. that makes this particular engine the real life Oliver.
from what i can see
the engine in this vid has the number 1450 not 1420 or 1436
Omg Oliver is real
Duck was 1774 and percy was the Trojans number 1340
Also fun fact 1420 was actually named bulliver
The Auto Tank Engine will always remind us all of Oliver, no. 11, from Thomas & Friends.
And the brake vans will always remind us of Oliver's good friend Toad.
Reminds me of Titfield Thunderbolt
Turns out that Oliver’s actual number is 1420, which they found when they digitally remastered the original illustrations. Meaning that this is actually Oliver
@Mîňťý ☆ HTF sorry, there was a mistake when this thing uploaded. Deleted the spam leaving the one relevant post.
Oliver 11 was my favorite character in thomas and friends growing up, so seeing his real life basis alive and well is pretty great.
It's also surprisingly quiet for a steam engine
8:17 literally Oliver and toad
MISTAH OLIVER
0:01 *Duck causally chiling behind Oilver*
nice ass ;)
Oilver: bye duck
Oh look, it's Oliver. And behind him is Duck a.k.a Montague
The management really should use this one for a Day Out with Duck and Oliver event.
Hopefully not in a turntable well or a Barber shop
@@MrBeeps. They should push a BR Class 08 into a turntable. Or a river
toad:mr oliver we better get the job done
oliver:don’t worry toad we won’t be late
Who can remember these on the Exe Valley line? 1466 was definitely there. I'm told they ran at 60mph plus on occasions ! Bampton station was a gem to behold.
Well they can dashes on the rail at an incredible speed of 80 miles per hour(128 kilometers per hour), probably due to the advantage of their large driving wheels.
Oliver and Toad brake van has been based on from Thomas the The Engine books
She really is a lovely loco good job mate 👍
I see them as a he, not a she.
@@dylagence443ok ok i see them as they/he/them I’ll call any steam locomotives any pronouns also why does this guy say mate for anyways?”
01:04 here you go sir! Your 14xx sandwich!
2:53 Duke’s whistle
The 1400 looks like Oliver from Thomas and friends
That’s because it is Oliver
0:14 It's Duck and Oliver!
7714🥰 duck 😃
Those 1400s were beautiful locos❤️🥰
The 1400's will always remind me of Titfield Thunderbolt, shame 1401 wasn't preserved.
Yeah, that old man still lives in old media and even now.
A wonderful and quirky design of a lovely Tank engine, especially when sandwiched between two coaches.
Oi'm Oliver, and this is my brakevan. We're escaping!
Brilliant video love the 14xx
Nice vid of a lovely little engine.
Enjoyed the 📹 video . I have the airfix model of this lovely 🚂 locomotive. Thanks for showing. Regards Paul.
Wonderful video :)
It's duck and oliver
5:17 whistle
I do love an Autocoach Combo, especially with a 4-2-0T, also with any type of closed freight van or best a low siphon 6 wheeler 👍🏻
Thank you my friend....From Kentucky.....!
This is Oliver in real life per the rws
I like trains and Thomas :D
Oliver’s day out
Lovely 14XX ❤️
Mr oliver?
They should be restored and rebuilt!..
OLIVER!?(NO.11)
@Ethan Schmid THANK YOU、Happy Birthday Oliver ありがとうございます。 お誕生日おめでとう、オリバー
@@Ban_miki its also called the 14xx class tank, sorry if this was a jokd
@@mariacosta-qh1rp Alright joke ok lol
Reminds me of Oliver
That’s because it is Oliver lol
@@radzieckigraczproductions3 knew that already. I know what every single engines name is, what color they have, and what number they have.

@@T1_Productionssometimes in the books, Oliver on his buffer beam has the number 1420 on it.
Interesting.
3:30 I love seeing a 14XX and 15XX together. Also does anyone know if Raging Bull (the preserved 15XX) is under overhaul or going to go under one soon
Oliver & Duck
Is it true this is the fastest tank engine? 80mph.
8:43 The austerity engine
That signal didn't move
What is an auto coach and why put an engine in the middle of 2 coaches. I grew up near the Paddington line, so never saw any branch line engines at work. 61xx series were the local work horse, with Castles etc pulling the Bristolian and Cornish Riviera and the like.
Basically an autocoach is where you can drive from the coach itself instead of going around, for your other question 2 autocoaches is called a sandwich. I also guess its for extra capasity*(probably spelt it wrong)
Mister oliver?
I'm escaping.
From what?
Scrap...
is that me
why am i in the snow
Why these engines called auto-tanks?
As they were fitted with gear to work with autocoaches, which meant the regular could be controlled from the carriage at the front of the train
8:17 Oliver and Toad
0:10 Oliver and Montague “Duck”
Which railways are these videos from??
1450 is seen at Severn Valley Railway (which has been its normal home for the past few years), Didcot Railway Centre, Llangollen Railway, Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway and Great Central Railway. 1420 is seen being shunted at the South Devon Railway. 1466 is seen at Didcot Railway Centre.
@@preservedrailway thank you that’s great! I’d love to see it in person!
Thomas
Why was this more reliable than the e2, they almost look identical
M mr Oliver
Hydrogen Oxide power.
