He had an injured finger. He had was under the stress of making an amazing idea work which didn’t pan out. So he spent all his time planning this out... the idea, what he would use, editing the video, and how he would structure the music. And the thing is he didn’t even do it for himself. He did it for us. Damn it Jared. You are just one amazing man.

idk what u been listening to man. ALOT of djent bands write similar riffs. Erra, Periphery, The Afterimage, Novelists, Volumes, ...
What makes it so good is the four note chords (language barrier here) that give a basic metal song a really fresh sound.

Looking back on this vid almost 4 years later without a doubt this is my favorite djent video Jared did, don’t get me wrong all the other ones had their charm as well. Musically this is my favorite one by far, it has a lot of interesting elements. Especially for making it on a short timeline with the whole scam thing that happened

This wasn't his idea for djent 17, the original idea was to get a guitar with 17 strings for the video, but, since he got scammed out of 400 dollars, he got the idea of making a song with 17 different guitars instead as a last ditch attempt to save djent 17

The entire concept of "djent 2XXX" is satirically parodizing how much worse djent has gotten, and how people like youwill listen to anything that looks impressive.
