I'm so glad Esi finally stood up to her mother and now husband by wearing the dress she wanted. Her mom did a great job with decor and flowers; and, she did compromise about the venue and drinks. And thank goodness the groom's mom brought the wedding dress Esi really wanted.

A lot of that is the show producers and writers trying to make it look like Christians are horrible, but if those words were coming from her heart, then she needs to have a serious talk with God! I agree with you. I have to question what she would do if a "lady of the night" walked into her church on a Sunday morning when she was preaching. Would she welcome her in with open arms or would she tell her she was dressed inappropriately for church and kick her out? My guess is she would do the latter. Just wrong on so many levels!

The pastor reminds me of my controlling mother back in the 1970's...my mum told me years before I met my husband, she was going to take control of my wedding...when I did meet my husband 1978, my husband and myself planned the wedding and paid for it all before I told my mother...5 months before the wedding...then I phoned my mother and told her...she went nuts...she went completely off her head and tried to cancel my wedding and do it her way...I would not let her...I stuck to my plans and went through with it...the opposite end of England aswell from where I come from...I never heard the last of it for years...my husband is now on his 3rd wife now anyway...watching from the south east of England 🏴

The first episode here was the only one where the mom really seemed to be in touch with what her daughter wanted, because they are two of a kind and focus too much on cost. The second dress didn't look very good on her, and I was completely put off when her first comment about it was "It looks so expensive". Because that's what is most important at your wedding.... As for the second and all the other episodes I've watched, what bothers me the most is that NONE of the moms (the ones who "won" or not) seemed to really care if the bride and groom would like their vision, they just wanted it their way. If I was planning a wedding for my son I would go out of my way to figure out what would make him and whoever he might marry the happiest.
Aside from that, I honestly was hoping Esi wouldn't show up at all, I agree with other commenters that she is trading a controlling mom for a controlling husband, and he puts more care into what her mom likes than what she likes. I do not hold out much hope that this will change now that they are married, although she did show signs of growing a backbone when she chose not to wear that horrible gown her mother chose!

This is a horrible horrible show that causes the bride to be very rude on purpose to her mother in law and it shows what kind of person she really is inside down deep ? So how long do you think this bride will stay married to her average police officer husband when this kind of lifestyle that she thinks she is entitled to doesn't happen ? Also how long do you think the husband will continue to just stand by and let his wife and mother in law treat his mother like the hired help instead of family ? I give it 18 months to 2 years tops !

When I say God took care of my wedding I mean it! There was no way my wedding should've happened because during the planning my mom got sick then it went from bad to critical. The news of my wedding had spread big time everywhere especially the hospital. My mom's doctor had heard about it and he called me in a room and said I heard your getting married but I don't think mom is going to be there. It took a minute for me realize what he was saying and I lost it. I didn't think anything else about the wedding it was about my mom. My mom was in the hospital for months and in a vegetative state. It was November and my wedding was suppose to be in May. Long story short my mom came out of the coma like it had never happened, a stranger tracked me down to pay for my wedding, my mom's nurses told their supervisor and she made our cakes, my old principal contacted me and she took care of all the favors and flowers. Everything was 60,,000 and we only paid 800. of it. My mom was there doing better than all of us.
