    Trucks!?! No way! A few projects ago, I'd commented that Alex had built every other part of a skateboard and (jokingly) that he should build a forge to cast his own trucks next. Solution for your humidity problem. Modify a food dehydrator to make a drying area to pull the humidity out of the air, this hack is used a lot for Filipe t spools and since you print things you’ll get more bang for your buck. I live in Maryland where it’s near 90% humid all the time and the food dehydrator helps prints and should help with your urethane too.

    • @GoodRoads

      Clear wheels would need a specific urethane formula. A lot of urethanes that have the durometers we're looking for have a natural amber tint to them so something crystal clear would be sort of a specialty product. I'm hoping to do a whole series testing out different formulae that are available, I've got to build some testing rigs first though.

      @GoodRoads Před 3 lety

      I don't know if you've seen the youtube channel Precious Plastic (I think they actually go by One Army now) but I love everything they're doing in the small scale plastic recycling space. I think recycled plastic wheels would be a really neat experiment, I think they would roll, but I don't actually expect that they would be all that good. Plastic bags are HDPE which has a low co-efficient of friction, so they'd probably slide like crazy, but they also probably wouldn't grip at all. Would definitely be a fun thing to play around on! I certainly need to see if I can make this mold geometry work on an FDM printer, they're so much more common. If you give it a shot go with the smallest possible layer height you can manage, it'll make a huge difference in accuracy and post-processing

    you should be pouring your material down the edge of your cups to keep air bubbles out. air bubbles in poly is like having porosity in a weld. it ruins them and makes them brittle. i have forgot mold release on brand new molds before lol my stuff was mostly stainless and aluminum so i couldnt smash them. you need to keep your scale clean too my man. cmon pull up. i hope your compensating your weight on your scale for your dye and you can keep your color consistant . you account for that by using a oven , all molds in an oven. no humidity in there. you should hire me im retired and bored and i skate too. also sick of Philadelphia and the crime

    You should make PU sleeves for e skateboards. They used to be like 30$ now they are 85$. Way overpriced

    I was just thinking how cool of a time we are living in were we can build are own Skateboard and wheels at home and then I looked at the trucks on your board when you were riding it..
    My cnc could mill them but that's not for everybody so I am really looking forward to seeing what you come up with 👍
