you are wrong.. ADAM returned he was the main hidden enemy of the IDW Comics 50th anniversary comics series where ALL doctos were together with all companions
@@througtonsheirs_doctorwhol5914 0:28 0:44 6:46
RTD wrote Adam as a deliberately shit companion, showing why the Doctor doesn't necessarily want the academically brightest people travelling with him.
adam being unable to click along to the beat to any song for the rest of his life makes me so happy
It sucks when he watches The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Imagine going to concerts went out the window after his skull got a new window
Brain port open. Brain port closed. Brain port open. Brain port closed.
Oh no! He can never watch the Addams family ever again!
A mate of mine had no sense of rhythm. He loved hard house music. I've never laughed so hard at him being off his tits and still being half a beat behind the rest of us. It's not as its the beat is subtle. Lol
Would be fun if we see another Adam like character again who becomes a recurring villain
Honestly, Adam is such a unique "companion" and anazing that he was in the first season of the reboot era too. We've never had such a short lived companion like that since, but i would kinda love to see that more.
I think he would have returned if Bruno Langley had been 'available'.
Still, at least they didn't plan a whole character arc around him
* cough * * Kang *
The saddest part is that he couldn’t listen to the Addams family theme…
he just has to beatbox instead
Particularly ironic since the episode ends with Adam returning to Adam's family. Creepy... and kooky...
Adam probably the most sad companion ever like he basically screwed his own life up
He got redeemed in my Chameleon Universe - Basically, certain characters had to be replaced due to certain circumstances, therefore Adam became one of the members of The Children of Time.
where is that confirmed@@mattthesilent777RED
@@mattthesilent777RED What's the Chameleon Universe ?
@@Pordrack My second Doctor Who parallel universe series - all the Doctors there are young women and most are played by actresses who played main universe companions
I never even considered him a companion. He got offered the opportunity but failed to meet basic qualifications after one trip into the future by not being an ambitious power hungry manipulative opportunist.
Even Turlough, who spent ages trying to kill the fifth Doctor lasted longer.
idk i always found it odd that adam does this gets kicked out by the doctor then the very next episode rose did the same thing but in a different way by trying to save her dad but the doctor forgives her but never adam. as i kid i was like thinking is it because shes a girl? i didnt understand characters and actors were seperate from each other.
Not only that, but Bruno Langley didn't go through the secretive and rigorous audition process that "proper" Companion actors go through. I exempt actors like Catherine Tate or Matt Lucas from this, as they were already established as charismatic performers. I mean the likes of Karen, Jenna and Pearl, who worked bloody hard to see off some serious competition to land the coveted role of Doctor Who Companion, and proved their worth as actors over many episodes. None of this applies to Adam/Bruno.
@reverse7503 the difference is the underlying motivation. Adam was taking advantage of time travel to become wealthy and powerful, using it to his advantage. Rose also abused time travel, but because she loved her father and was overwhelmed when she saw a way to save him. It's the difference between someone stealing to try and feed their kids versus someone stealing just to get some money.
@@reverse7503Except despite Rose making a mistake, she’s not a selfish coward who will take advantage of anything like Adam doesn’t and going by his childhood, yeah he’s manipulative too
Doesn’t help that he worked for a scumbag too
He’s not the one we forgot, he’s the one we ignore.
Adam kidnapping Rory’s dad on a technicality is hilarious to me and I don’t know why
Frobisher and kamelion probably hung out in jail and became shape shifter buddies
Dying for The Doctor being what makes him "A Companion True" is appropriate on a level The Doctor might not appreciate.
Lmao
He didn't die for the Doctor, he died for all of Space and Time.
@cnyte09 Well, that's alright then.
@@joshuaanson5939 LMAOOOOOO
I was six when New Who came out and didn't watch the first series cos my mum wanted to make sure it'd be okay. The second series came out the following and for the Christmas in-between I got loads of Doctor Who stuff from family members who didn't realise I hadn't seen it, including a Doctor Who Top Trumps set. The first card in the deck that I looked at was Adam with his forehead window open and I will never, ever forget that image
This storyline would've been so cool to see adapted in the TV series!
Exactly the perfect companion specially a modern companion becomes repetitive like the Doctor always find the right person. Is about time to do a villain companion or a anti hero
@@marcos-ll2yr
Turlough was an agent of the Black Guardian for three stories in a row, and Mike Yates was misguidedly in league with Operation Golden Age. But, we've never seen a full companion to villain story arc yet, akin to whichever Robin was that became the Red Hood...
@@markpostgate2551Jason Todd
So if the Doctor had just shut off the headspike instead of leaving it active as punishment, none of that would have happened. Nice going, Doctor.
Nah, he probably would've still been mad at the Doctor for destroying the info he got from the year 200,000
@@CNYTE At least he'd have a normal life and maybe better take care for his mom. He might not be mad enough to break space/time.
Genesis of the Daleks also had an almost-companion. At one point in the story, the kaled dome is destroyed and the Doctor assumes Sarah and Harry died in the destruction. For a short period afterwards, he grew close to a Thal woman named Bettan and she seemed set up to be a companion until Sarah and Harry were found to be alive.
Do like how Adam's story there adds to the guilt The Doctor feels about the people they touch sometimes. A understated part of 11's character (And something that comes back in with The Doctor Falls/Twice Upon a Time with 12)
Adam Mitchell was not forgotten, his story was given a great conclusion in Doctor Who: Prisoners Of Time. Beep Meep has this adventure on his facebook along with hundreds of other Who vids.
Adam has always been one of my favourite characters that I’d continually hoped would return to the series as a vengeful villain.
Thought this was going to be about poor Dodo Chaplet.
The moment he went too far is when he kidnapped Brian Williams
I guess "The Supporting Character That Appeared In Two Consecutive Doctor Who Stories" wasn't a catchy enough title ;)
I liked this idea that hasn't really been used since, a multi episode companion that didn't work out really quickly and was just dropped abruptly one episode
I’m pretty sure he’s more dead in the Doctor Who universe now because it turns out he was a predator and that’s why he got fired from Coronation Street and have recourse him, I haven’t watched the video yet so let’s see
Him and Noel Clarke both, and that’s not mentioning Barrowman pulling his willy out every other take. Lots of questionable people cast in the early reboot unfortunately, it sucks they end up tainting their characters to a degree because of it.
They should recast him and continue the story!
Love that. A companion we see at first hate the doctor and then become villainous.
I think the tv show needs a companion like that turns in a villain or very flaud. I'm tiring of the same dinamics a arc like this comics will be amazing to see in the main show
The story of Adam after The Long Game sounds like absolute fan wank... But I am kind of intrigued by the absurdity of it 😅😅
Yeah, I can get behind him making a plan to take revenge on 9, but creating a fortress of evil in the time vortex and kidnapping every Doctor and companion is so far past being absurd.
He was very smart, but more a self destructive smart. If he had the ability to plan any further ahead than "future knowledge powerful" he wouldn't have gotten himself kicked off the TARDIS in the first place.
i Will miss Adam forever, despite being a failed companion in the series and not in 50th anniversary comic related apparently
you are wrong.. he was the main hidden enemy of thge IDW Comics 50th anniversary comics series where ALL doctos were together with all companions
@@througtonsheirs_doctorwhol5914 i mean he redeems dying
@@selatidos sorry didn'T get the correct take :D
His comic book stuff is cool cuz it kinda shows in a comic it doesn’t matter which body he has, he’s always the doctor.
I’ve been binge watching your videos for the past couple of days and only realised at the end that it was the first time I was seeing your face 😅 really glad I found your channel!
we didn't forget Adam, we left him to his own stupid devices. whatever happened to him he brought on himself
Sort of an inverse Clara by going through time fucking with every version of the Doctor
And Frobisher keeps showing why he is THE GOAT(A.R.D.I.S)
Amazing job doing a deep dive into Adam! Seems like he was always going to end badly from the tone of that script, but that actor played Adams selfish, mean streak well!
this is such a cool story, i wish it made it to the screen (maybe as an anniversary special)
Love this more of these please 🙏
I’ve always wanted to make a companion that turns bad properly like u see it slowly happen.
Someone you like at first.
I story like that what be truly ballsy.
Like I think it would be interestingly controversial like series 8 Clara and 12, I originally hated series 8 when I was young cuz of it love it now
WHEYYY Nottingham! That's my hometown. That's why I love Human Nature/The Family of Blood so much because not only are John Smith's parents from Nottingham but it's also set on my birthday.
Adam's gravestone is giving me Judas Contract flashbacks.
One of the best comics. Brilliant video.❤
That comic series was one of my favorite reads.
This is the only Doctor Who comic i ever read and i love it! Such a good idea
I prefer the idea that his own mom had him dissected.
They could always recast Adam Mitchell with Gareth Pierce, who already plays Bruno Langley's Corrie character Todd Grimshaw on TV.
I was just wondering if you'd done an episode on ol' Adam! ♥
edit: just finished... ow, my soul 😭
The final story is pure gold omg
I need to check out this comic. This seems awesome.
Great vid
I think this is RTDs hatred for Adric being played out. I imagine young RTD at the end of watching State of Decay infuriated that the Doctor didn't throw him to the great vampire. That day he vowed "if ever I write Doctor Who and he picks up a nerd who falls for the first super being that offers him super powers, my Doctor would kick him to the kerb".
Getting strong Doctor Doom vibes...the cloak and hood, the backstory, the stolen tech....
I wish we actually saw this.
Was he forgotten or did he play his entire role and never need to show up again?
Once you start getting sponsorship I'd love to see a similar video. That seems to be another aspect of CZcams ad rev that's hidden.
You’ve got a lot of links in your description. The only one you’re missing is the only fans one…
…you know what to do Harbo
I can't forget him he shares the same name as me
Tbf him juust being unimaginable rich trying capture him would be interesting
I don't like "villains" that "redeem" themselves. I prefer someone who sticks to their convictions rather than someone that "gets shown the error of their ways".
Sally Sparrow ('Blink') was once supposed to be a Companion, she would have been great!
Why did 11 stay longer?
The revenge of Adam Mitchell
So, basically, Adam became Doctor Doom
[rimshot]
Is this a reupload? Didn't you already talk about Adam and what happened to him after he got kickt out?
I think I touched upon Prisoners of Time during my big companion fates video a couple years back. That might be where you're remembering it from. But this time I wanted to focus on Adam more specifically and his past/future rather than just Prisoners
@@HarboWholmespossibly an old “Defending the Despised” video about The Long Game too?
Martha Jones?
Wasnt he on Corrie as well?
Didn't the actor Bruno Langley later on get convicted for SA?
Yes, he did.
I thought this was going to be about Pete.
Why this wasn’t the 60th anniversary episode I don’t know.
So why did the Doctor leave someone with future technology in the present without removing the technology.
This is probably why American accents aren't allowed in the Tardis.
Hey!!!
…yeah no, that’s fair. 😂😉
What about Peri, and wanting to bring Grace along?
Adam didn’t have an American accent though lmao
It will be just a snap
Martha is much more forgotten
FROBISHER MENTIONED‼‼
Tarnished by the actor who played him? Did I miss(understand) something?
it was prisoners in time canon?
you are wrong.. he was the main hidden enemy of thge IDW Comics 50th anniversary comics series where ALL doctos were together with all companions
What about Mr. Pond's father?
I'm sure this question is a whole bag of worms with no actual answer but in case there is, are stories like this Canon?
I certainly hope not.
Cannon is largely opinion nowadays, but TV apparently has the right to trample anything they haven't even bothered to look up on TARDIS wiki.
That said, yeah, the Comics are too ridiculous to take seriously as far as cannon goes, why I never really spent much money on them.
Didn't they continue his character story in the comics, though?
Watched the video yet? 😅
Are we watching the same video?
@@jessicaable5095 admittedly, not yet
Can make a video about If Jenny the Doctors Daughter is coming back and if not, than why
Because a spin-off series called “Who’s Your Daddy” is so obvious, the BBC failed to see it. Like that gorilla basketball video.
Well he won't be comingback with the same actor considering the actor that played him got convicted for sex offences.
Damn
This is another example of the Comics being rediculous. I just can't take any of them seriously as continuity.
I much prefer The Nine stealing all the Companions in proper expanded media: Big Finish. I even like the kid from Stranded as a better shunned non-companion becoming a villain, it just was such a better way to do it.
Ngl, if you told me you were his much younger brother id believe ypu.
7:51 this is all impossible considering that this is after the episode Dalek so he wouldn't be able to find previous doctors and that incarnation of the master considering that Rn the doctor would still be 9th because it takes place after the episode Dalek. this isn't cannon
Of course he can find previous incarnations. He’s got a vortex manipulator.
No dude. That Adam story from the comics sounds like complete shit. Not only is the revenge angle a cliche, the whole "last minute redemption arc" trope should have died with return of the Jedi.
Thanks for telling us about it because it's nice to know that we aren't missing out by refusing to care about the tie in products.
adam was a little nobhead thats why he never came back
Because I know how you young people are don't take it personally but extended media don't mean Jack it's basically fan fiction. Good video though.
The companion Doctor Who Forgot = Fanbase.
Lol Adam didn’t deserve this storyline
Honestly wasn't a fan off him, but he did get done dirty.
Never read the comic is it available or lost in copyright shuffle?
Adam gets a second appearance in my Chameleon Universe OUTSIDE the expanded media
Chameleon universe?
@@mujiescomedy279 Alternate universe of mine - all Doctors happen to be female but the true reason comes from the whole "like to blend in" thing being practiced a bit more - czcams.com/play/PLxNIyRv6P8U78P-WuivicRsUNSo1_GbMq.html
i hated Adam. Both the character and the actor. You know when you see someone and just think "There's something off about you." or you just think "He's got such a punch-able face." He is between the two. Constant smug face and gives off "that's someone as a career long BBC1 actor

Considering the accusations around him I'd say you have good instincts 😂
future me is this a justification of Adam's dumbassery?
ehhhh kinda
honestly, incredibly glad that the comic story isn’t mentioned on screen. not to be negative, but it sounds terrible
Companions last more than one episode. He was a selfish smeghead who frelled around and found out, and fading into obscurity was his just reward. Not worth a video about him.
Adam is a good failed companion, cos he REALLY sucked
Wasn't the actor arrested for sexual harassment in real life?
The actor that plays Adam is a terrible person from what I have heard
Of course Adam's actor's awful 🤦
