Good information about the cleaning dump thingy, thank you.
Thanks! 👍🍻
Looks clean👌🏼
Nice through review as always Brian. Thank You! Loved the whispering at the end LOL!
Haha.. Had to throw that in!!
Based on your review, I bought it. Got delivered yesterday and hoping to give it a try this week!
Awesome! I think they are a good value! 🍻👍
Good stuff Brian! Thanks for the review! Hope your having a great Sunday. Cant wait to get the Yeast Experiment beers this week! Sláinte!
I know!! Will be a blast!!
Very nice video I enjoyed it ! That seems like a decent little fermenter. For summers and I expected the cooling kit , to cost less than it does. Obviously all those pieces do add up thanks again for the video .
Yeah if you have a controller already you can get the coil and jacket for less than the kit.
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers I did see that if you already have a pump and a controller it is a little more affordable.
I have two of these and love them. I do plan to buy a cooling kit for them. I don't have a glycol chiller, but I'm planning to do a cold water chiller, with an ice maker in the brewery to supply a cooler with a heat exchanger coil inside.
For price quality ratio it sounds like a good option. Thanks for your review on this.
Yes it does! Glad you found it helpful.
great review! Talking about bumping the probe what I did was stick my inkbird probe into the rubber grommet that came with the unit for the thermometer. Just poke it all the way in though it and make sure its long enough inside to touch the thermowell. Makes it a nice neat plug in kinda! Cheers!
Good tip! 👍🍻
The chilling coil for lager options is pretty cool.
Yeah it really effective when paired with a chiller! 👍🍻
Great review, very thorough! Was really hoping you’d give it the thumbs up for the trub dump. Oh well. Cheers.
Yeah would have been nice.. But hey it is what it is.. Glad you enjoyed it! 👍🍻
I love your thorough and well produced reviews Brian! Thank you for your work.
What kind of filter do you use when transferring from the Fermtank to the keg?
They were a couple of water filters left over from some projects. The bouncer is a good option.
Thanks for the comments!! 👍🍻
Very nice!
First!!!
Nice Video Review again, thanks Brian! Have this kind of fermenters since the last year in use. Works like a charm. (Have some vids english/german on my channel for it.) But all the adds of the Delta Brewing looks really great. Can recommend it, cheers!
Thanks!! 👍🍻
Thanks for the info. Based on your review I won't be buying it due to the yeast dump issue. Thanks again for taking the time to inform us. I hit the subscribe button.
Thanks for the feedback I try to give you the truthful honest information about what I review! Thanks for subscribing! 👍🍻
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers I just purchased the Blichtman 7 gallon low profile conical fermenator which will fit into my kegerator for temperature controlled fermenting without having to buy the what manufacturer's offer by way of cooling.
@@gilochoa2980 nice! I'm excited to get my hands on the new one that is coming soon. 👍🍻
Looks like a hybrid of the SS Brewtech Brew Bucket and Chronical.
Yeah I thought the same thing.. Not a bad little fermenter! 👍🍻
Seems like a good middle option if you want more features and a little higher quality than the Anvil but don't need all the bells and whistles from a Spike Flex or SS Brewtech Conical.
Yepmot has some nice features for the price point. Cheers! 👍🍻
Love the videos! I am agonizing over all the options for stainless fermenters. What I need is one that I can do a trub/yeast dump, be able to pressure transfer, looking for 7-8 gallon batches. Would like the ability to pressure ferment but I'm not as stuck on that. Are there any options that are not $550-600? I am leaning towards the SS Brewtech Chronical. Are there other options that are just as good? Thanks in advance!
Have you checked out the new Anvil Crucible? They make a 14 gallon version I just did a first look video on the seven gallon. While it's not pressure capable you can certainly use pressure to push your beer out of it into a keg just like I have done with their bucket fermenters. And that fermenter is $325.. That might be a good option for you.
hey Brian, They sell the quick disconnects on more beer i use one on my gas hose.
In saw them but aren't they 5/16 gas line? These are 3/8"
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers they are, but i think they could still work if you can't find 3/8
Hey Brian, are you able to possibly get the dimensions of this with the lid (and hose barb) attached and the legs at the shortest position? I’m trying to decide on buying this, but need to make sure it’ll fit in my chest freezer
From the Delta website.. Total height with lid and blow off barb: 28" h (32" w/ leg extensions)
Size is interesting. 7G that I have now feels more than enough even with overfilling or adding fruit or whatever I think of.
Yeah it has lots of room. 👍🍻
Is the valve at the bottom detachable for cleaning purposes?
Yes it is.
What is the price point vs as brewtech bucket? Is the clean out valve help speed cleaning? If you want to lessen glycol hose dripping, automotive heater hose helps, not perfect but way better than silicon
$195 for the bucket.
Any idea how well or poorly a tilt would work through this fermentor?
I really don't know.
Do you have any experience with deltas AIO brew system?
I do not.. but it is the same as some systems on Amazon. Other than that I have no knowledge.. BUT you get what you pay for.
Did you have you had any issues with the gasket in the lid? I have the 4 gallon version and the gasket keeps pooping out of place... so it's had to close it up and have confidence that it's sealed correctly/fully
I have not. Have you tried some keg lube on it? Sometimes that will hold them in place. 👍🍻
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers yeah, tried some Cip Film that I use as lube and it wasn't helping.. maybe need more. I noticed that one small part of the gasket kept sliding out as I adjusted it.. probably need to have another go at it when this ferment is done, and probably should shoot an email to delta. Nice little tank so far.. that is my only gripe.
@@FermentationAdventures yeah they are a nice fermenter. Let me k ow what works! 👍🍻
How is the ball valve? Sanitary? Can you take the ball out like a traditional ball valve?
Yes the ball valve can be completely disassembled and cleaned. 👍🍻
Do you have any plans to review the Fermzilla? I have seen mixed reviews so far
Funny you should ask... One is on its way... Have been waiting for the temp twister to hit the states so I can do a proper full review.
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers Wow great news! Looking forward to that, it seems they had some initial sealing problems from a few of the reviews I have seen
@@MattOrabella yeah.. I've seen that too.. Not consistent though.. We'll see what my experience is. 👍🍻
are there dimensions available for this? Apologize if you mentioned them. I skimmed the video
The website has them I believe.
I wonder if their glycol coil would work on the Anvil, I cant find any dimensions on their site.
The lid won't fit but if you were adventurous and wanted to drill your own holes I'm sure you can use it.
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers I think I might, know off hand which size the barbs are?
@@JohnnyReverse 3/8"
Are they making this in the US? I know you said they want to source US components but didn't see where they say it is American made.
Im not 100% sure.
I assume that there's a gasket on the lid, but could you please confirm?
Yep silicone. 👍🍻
I was hoping this would be a more affordable option than the grainfather conical. Unfortunately after adding heating and cooling, it's the same price as the grainfather conical. Grainfather conical has the benefit of being jacketed, so I don't see a reason to buy this over the GF Conical Pro. Too bad.
I'm a little confused by that statement. the Pro fermenter is $700 and does not include hoses for the chilling. The Fermtank is 425 with the cooling option and comes with the hoses. My heating pad I used is like another $10 on top of that and beats the HELL out of the grainfather heater by far. How is that the same price?
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers I got the pro for 550 last fall. I bought two. I would bet they go on sale for that again this year. So, I guess it comes down to whether you need it immediately or can wait for a sale. If I didn't have the grainfather conicals, I think I would definitely buy this before the anvil or SSBrewtech bucket.
Ok that makes more sense. 👍🍻
never listed what heating pad you used?
Whoops!! Thanks for letting me know!! Fixed it! 👍🍻
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers No worries, i just wanted to buy it, and swipe the idea from you, haha. thanks Brian.
@@dewuc151 by all means!! Those are awesome heating pads!! No auto shut off either!! 👍👍🍻
