DanDan helped me tremendously to understand what to look for and how to see things before they happen along with how to react to them.
I was doing ok figuring it out on my own. My first 2K mi went without to much trouble. Though i do believe the 6K since then has been safer and more enjoyable due to dans efforts.

I must admit, my riding journey was much the same, started out with very little experience, and only later started to take practice seriously
Even when they do see you, they may still pretend you aren't there.
(Early on, a driver "pushed" me 1.5 lanes over because I was "in her way".) Do not allow yourself to be "brake checked". Maintain distances - front and back.
Never ever gst boxed in.
Yes, sometimes you will come across a cager having a bad day, that does run you off the road, but that's why you should always pass wide, or as DanDanTheFireman says, "maintain your space cushion"
