    The difference between USC and other law schools is because the prior is dedicated on giving attention to their students by "literally teaching" their students, and helping them prepare for what may come, as opposed to other law schools which leave their students to their own devices,--the students are given cases to read and some references and it is expected that when he shows to class and be questioned in an oral test, he already digested well the readings, if not, well, best of luck. There are some fortunate times when some professors will correct or expound an answer by a student w/c is a good thing since you'll learn on the why's and how's. But some prof just leaves it as it is, and students just have to figure the answer out--if it is wrong/correct. Indeed, its the expected of the student to study and learn, but the problem is, what if the thing he read and interpreted is not actually is correct or its actually is half-correct? So, panu un?
    when trabaho lng dw ng mga prof is to give grades and not teach? That's the difference b/w USC and other Law schools. Some may say na almost spoon-feeding USC but I say, they're making the expense of tuition fee of students worthwhile and at least totoong nagbbigay sla ng quality education by ACTUALLY teaching.

      Exactly! As a law student in Manila, I just feel like law professors here are making law school hard just for the sake of it. They are compromising education because of this stupid adherence to an old conotation that the students should handle absolutely all the weight of legal education with little input from them. Both the student and the professor should do their part.
      Law professors should evaluate and innovate on how they teach. I had a professor who balance the "spoon-feeding and student effort" so well that he is better than my other professors who were judges and authors. Most just loves power play and doesn't even teach in the sense that they do not explain what they told us to read.

      I’m a student from the Metro and no truer words have been said. It’s frustrating trying to understand a certain concept and profs will just leave you hanging to understand a concept. Tapos kayo pa mismo magkakaklase magtatalo debating how it should be without the professors clearing it out puro recit lang. I hope law profs would improve their way of imparting their knowledge. :(

    Our school which is also located in the province gained 100 percent passing rate for 2016. That is because students are left on their own generally to the extent that only 20 percent of the class would pass. I envy other schools for providing a wholesome support and impeccably tutelage.

    This is fascinating to someone living outside of the Philippines. Publishing the names and scores of test takers for a professional exam on TV, would be considered quite unusual in my country. Here achieving a high score would only be relevant to my future employers and the university. I'm not even sure if ranks would be revealed for something like a licensing examination. Are placements or exams for doctors published too?

    • @angelicaacabo5804
      @angelicaacabo5804 Před 7 lety +7

      Zetunez Hi, if you're still wondering if this usually happens, it does but only few at times and mostly just from the bar exams. People can know who passed such exams be it from bar, medicine, etc. as it is publish for public viewing. Now, the USC topnotcher made such headlines is because it has always been from the Univeristy of the Philippines who gets to be #1 in the bar exams. Now, USC are getting the top spots in board exams not only in law but in other courses as well.
      Another thing that made it such a hot topic is because such a situation as this (so many topnotchers that are non-UP) had only happened during Duterte's presidency and people are speculating that this happened because crooks are not able to further support UP students.

    Really? 4 straight years of making it to the top 10 will not in any way surpass the greatness that is U.P... U.P. and Ateneo had been ruling the bar exams. for several decades already. A little success for provincial schools should not in any way make your "heads" swell as these achievements are way too premature to say that truly the rule of U.P. and Ateneo is but just a history! Whoever is at the top rules! Viva ADMU, you've made it to the top of last year's bar exam! Ad majoream Dea gloriam!

    • @regularguyperspective5878
      @regularguyperspective5878 Před 5 lety +7

      But things have changed already. USC Law Cebu has now been proving their greatness for the last few years. Admu may have made themselves on the top in this recent bar exam but dont forget that 2nd placer is again from USC and 3 more are also included in the top 10. So 4 USC students in the top 10..
