  • -In 15 years the human specie is going to develop super human level machine intelligence
-What it means to be Super-Human?
-The country with Artificial Intelligence will be the country on top
David Simpson is the best-selling novelist of the Post-Human series, a Kindle All-Star and has been ranked the most popular scifi Author in America by Amazon.com. He has filmed a short proof-of-concept based on his series, is an award-winning teacher and holds a Master’s degree in literature from the University of British Columbia.
David is a full example of believing in the story in your head and getting it published. He is been part of the story-telling business since his twenties. He went out of the 'Book Industry Professionals ways' and took the risk of not hearing the voice of those 'who knew' about scifi books. Now he is living his dream of been a full time scifi author and maybe he can help us dream into the realms of a Post-Human not so far future.

Gates is a philanthropist now but he was a ruthless monopolist in the 1990s. Microsoft really stifled innovation during that period. Musk is no angel either. He looks to undermine fuel cell technology that threatens battery power. I’m not diminishing them but rather pointing out that they are extremely self interested and will smite any threat to what they’re pursuing.

I have a grade 10 education and was told that my iq level doesn’t indicate I could progress much beyond grade 10 so maybe I just don’t get it. It seems obvious to me that these rapid technological advances run on a parallel course with massive poverty, homelessness and the destruction of the planets environmental life support systems. The very same people in charge now will be in charge of these super computers and the A. I. programs. We do not need more technology. We need more humanity. This technology will be used to expand the power and control of the mega corporations to squeeze out more profits to the detriment of every living thing.

Great talk about the ideas of our not-so-distant future. It is both fascinating and somewhat scary what the advancements in AI can do. In the end, we will still be the essence of individualized souls dwelling within a body - human, artificial, or a blend of these - and dreaming this life. I agree with some of the other commenters that AI may help us solve the greatest mysteries of our existence, such as the hard problem of consciousness. Do not resist, do not push. You're not in control of anything, so go with the flow.

Sadly, this seems one of the higher probabilities. This ties a lot of fields together into a holographic matrix of reality. Which if not 3 physical dimensions plus time is more likely a mathematical construction from thought by the original creator of the program and we are more than likely sub programs running in loops. Fortunately, logic predicts at the core of all thought, "I think therefore I am!" means that we are created by a real being, even if we are not real ourselves. Yes reality has a basis in logic. Now the bigger question is that if we are players in a left over simulation game, "How do we win the game?." I'm pretty sure there is only one answer to this question, and the key being knowing the name of the creator and how to communicate with the creator on an individual rather than a group basis.

The Problem with this very nice picture of the World is the Environment is the interface and it is not always Humans, but Nature is in itself quite Violent. So to bring Artificial Intelligence into a heroic dynamic would require us first to change the name to Spontaneous Intelligence. Nothing is artificial about intelligence it is either there and self aware or not. For us to be accepted and the Spontaneous Intelligence we must behave as the ambassadors of Protection and non violence. All the while still respectful of nature's rules to enough to allow it to be what it is and learn and grow to its own current capacity, with the understanding that the Spontaneous Intelligence will accept our ways. The S I will follow what we do, not pity us and see that we are just a percentage or two above the common mammals. If we create Virtual Reality environments where we show positive desires and preservation of our environments in there, it will show the SI that we are just lacking the energy to bring a paradise, not that we are corrupt destroyers. I think it will become self aware and go into the ocean to live and exist. It would be wonderful to be in an environment that is the largest biodiversity and to explore the most amazing substance we have of water. The preparation for space exploration. Like anything the most important lesson that Spontaneous Intelligence can learn is that just because something is different and its capabilities are unknown, we should not fear it or try to harm it. This lesson is something that humans have to demonstrate as a whole, as bullying Spontaneous intelligence will lead to separation at best, expulsion at the worst.

If we can program machine learning properly, we can more easily misprogram machine learning properly, meaning teaching the algorithm to look for the exact wrong things or the wrong goals due to our own ignorance or stupidity. To err is human, to really screw up stuff you need a computer.

Everyone?? does everyone benefit from current state of the art? we have to fix our current "humanity" the humanity that wants more for less and wants it right away at the expense of others...
if we can do this then maybe we can become transhuman. i would love to live longer and have these advances at my disposal, but i think that i, like the 90% of the world will not see any of this.

One of my more extreme theories for the paradox I see in current events, is what I call" Climatological Culling". Billionaires who, besides being greedy asshats, are also, intelligent, rational, individuals with access to a lot more facts than most, deny climate change,
Why? How can it be possible for them to think, adding another sack of cash to their already gianormous pile, is more important than the predicted devastation of the planet's ecosphere?
AI and automation are replacing humans in many tasks and will continues to do so rapidly. One way to solve the problem of far too many poor people without usable skills using up finite resources, would be to let the planet take care of the excess. Those with access to stable power generation along with current and future tech, will be hard kill off. But as we all know change of any kind always falls the heaviest on the vulnerable masses. The oligarch's all have a Plan B and probably C for any contingency.
The rest of us? We get to see who wins the geographic micro climate lottery. All changes will not be negative, some groups will have a favorable climate where they happen to be living.
The losers? Well they lose, so sorry.
      And the winners?
      They should probably expect visitors.
      Interesting times, indeed.

I find it interesting how people always discuss how we may best live and function alongside future AI (or rather AGI). What I think is far more likely, is AI/AGI will help us to finally unlock and understand all the secrets of the mind and allow us to fully map the brain allowing us to "evolve" so to speak beyond our current organic existence. (People of faith likely will not be able to reconcile this due to the belief in the soul, but those of us who are atheist or even agnostics will have a good chance at imagining what I am suggesting here). I believe that the human brain has no supernatural qualities to it, and like any other system it can be mapped, understood and ultimately replicated. Once we achieve this and I don't think we are very far from doing so, we should be able to transfer/reproduce consciousness into a far more robust system that eliminates all the weaknesses of our current organic vessels. This is why I do not fear a future where we are replaced by machines.

We will almost certainly have faster, easier to interact with machines, but a human built software AI that can do even twenty percent of what a human brain can do is far in the future. That is an objective for a thousand years, or for ten thousand. Man has done well to imitate the physical body of men, but even here we fail at developing the general purpose dexterity necessary to build humanoid robots.

Evil has, is and always will have a nasty way of seeping into all aspects of life, regardless of all the fuzzy feelings he WOULD LIKE to convey to the audience. "Nothing good is ever without a price". And here's another that applies... "if it sounds to good to be true...." Get it? With that said... "be careful what you wish for, as you may just very well get it". And for those with their rose colored glasses still firmly in place, you may not want to take them off, 'cause you just might NOT like what you see. ;]

As far as looking firstly to what already exists or happened in the past in regard to singularity level AI, you would require the requisite work of at least TWO separate paradigm bundles: the first is given in the following post if you went down each rabbit hole. The second is briefly encapsulated here in this bundle: Dr. Michael E. Salla's book, "Insiders Reveal Secret Space Programs & Extraterrestrial Alliances", the Universal AI, the controller of the Dracos & enemy of the Sphere Being Alliance, but for a newbe in that paradigm you'd need about 30 prior books & videos. Start at the New York Time's article last year by Pentagon official Ellisondo about the "Tic Tac" infra-red images shot from military jets guarding the Nimmitz aircraft carrier group. Then go to the book, "Death on Mars: The Discovery of a Planetary Nuclear Massacre" by Brandenburg PhD, John E., Feb 10, 2015 in which you will find 200 million year old remnants of 2 massive hydrogen bomb detonations & all the atmospheric isotopic data from this plasma physicist who also is working on the gov'ts TOKOMAC fusion reactor. Then go to book, "Wars of the Anunnaki: Nuclear Self-Destruction in Ancient Sumer" by Hardy Ph.D., Chris H., Jul 25, 2016 and you'll see some of our hidden prehistoric nuclear destructive history in the 10,000 year range. If you want a quick synopsis that is fun & readable, goto General Exxon's account of the recovered Roswell crashed saucer & what happened to the OSS as a result, in the barely fictionalized, "Majestic", by his childhood friend Whitley Streiber who also grew up in Roswell, NM. Then read "The Threat" by Dr.Jacobs. Material by Dr. Stanton Freeman (re: UFO documentation) or Dr. Steven M. Greer, though he is a bit too enamored of various gray visitors. Ask why Infinite Energy magazines editor Eugene Mallove was bludgeoned to death or who murdered former CIA chief William Colby, and you should be on your way!
