- The NSX is Acura's mid-engine sports car built to battle Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, Lamborghini, Audi and of course the Corvette. Under the engine hatch is a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 that is paired with electric motors to produce 573HP & mated to a 9-speed DCT. This particular NSX has all the options including a carbon fiber roof, spoiler, splitter and diffuser. On the inside you will find wonder leather and Alcantara seats, and the perfect steering wheel. You hit the nail on the head: performance, style, reliability. Mine is build #1816 pictured left. I've had it for 1 1/2 years now through two Canadian winters as a daily driver with Pirelli Sottozero 3 tires in the winter. Its Bulletproof beautiful and reliable. What more do you want? Nothing can touch it....

I love watching your videos just to see what sort of creative word combinations you're going to use to articulate your assessment of the various vehicles that you test. I used to only watch your videos which covered a certain make of car that I was considering buying at some future point, but now I watch almost all of them just for the entertainment factor.

I live in Newport Beach and I see Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, McLaren’s and Bentley’s driving around on a daily basis. They’re very common around here. The NSX has such a presence. It’s a real head turner. I think because there aren’t many NSX’s driving around, it makes them more special. Just my opinion!

I drove that car at my racing country club for a couple sessions and got out wide eyed and bushy tailed. Told a couple friends exactly the same thing you said " this car is one of the most active cars I've really ever felt" ..but not in a phony kind of way...it gets into your brain...the more you drive it the more you love it.

That's how I see the honda accord. Out of all the new cars like the hyundai, kia, and Toyota, honda looks more simple but classy.

I love this car so much. I remember Raiti reviewing a Valencia Red Acura NSX at the Tampa Auto show a few years back; his enthusiasm and attention to detail got me hooked and from then I have been riding with Raiti. This has to be like his 5th or 6th time reviewing an Acura NSX (Red, Orange, Yellow , Blue)but he still has the same passion like the first video, he definitely likes this car...almost as much as me. Respect to you Raiti.👍

Ive owned an r8 and an amg gts and just recently got this nsx. I have to say the nsx is the most fun and definately attracts more attention, even more than my brothers c8 z06. I think im going to keep the nsx for awhile

LOVE the NSX....they just don't get the respect it deserves. If I had the money I'd buy that over a lambo, R8, or C8 all day. More people should use this platform on CZcams. Because McLarens & Lambo is all you ever see anymore. Did I mention I 💘 the NSX lol. Great content...keep it coming.

This vehicle is a technological marvel! The only issue with this Super Car, is that it's lacking a Super Car name.....
There is no denying what an awesome car the NSX is...it reminds me of the R8. For the money it's a great buy as compared to the competition. If you have money to burn and can swing the purchase of a Ferrari why not? But there is no question this car rips in every way.

Just a comment on the wheels, this Acura has the option “Interwoven” wheel package. Personally I prefer the standard “Y-Spoke” rims but the Interwoven are a popular upgrade.
Also, technically the “hump” in rear storage is not for exhaust. The LuK/Shaffer electric gear change mechanism for the DTC is mounted on top of the gearbox and the hump is to make room for the device.
I'd think this nsx to be a modern day "xj-220". Both twin turbo v6 and are insane fast supercars that kick ass, despite being sales disasters, and being too different than people's expectations: this car not being the lightweight simple nsx of the 90s that people expected, and the xj220 not being the v12 monster customers paid for and expected. Both have similar performance and are cool cars that just plain kick ass. Still tho, i think calling it hsx rather (h for hybrid) than nsx would have been more appropriate and improve sales.

@@RaitisRides This is my first foray into these types of cars, I have a C7 Vette and a challenger hellcat, so I'm used to the dinosaur way of making power.
The C8 doesn't even come close to this masterpiece of engineering.
Do you know how much C8 cost? You can buy 3~4 C8 with price of 1 NSX.......id rather get 458, 911, or maybe r34 in couple yrs.
@@user-dibribhsvj36d True, you get what you pay for! Look at the history, especially for those of us who have lived through it. Every corvette since the 80's was touted as having been vastly improved and was built in a special factory, yet recalls and class actions suits galore, just like you will see on the C8. No class actions suits on the NSX since it's beginning in 1990 and no Lemon law returns as far as I know. The Japanese companies do R&D for many years to the point that people complain about how long a model takes to develop. Chevy has "New and Innovative design" every couple of years because of a lack of R&D. Oh, and Chevy customer service good luck on that ! Love the looks of the corvette, if it's sitting in the garage under good lighting then It's a way better bargain than an NSX . If you just bought a new C8 (probably at 10K to 20K ADM), nothing personal I'm sure you love it, just make sure you have good lighting in the garage.
@@user-dibribhsvj36d You can't even buy 2 C8 Corvettes for the price of an NSX, not with the way dealerships are marking up prices. Average prices for C8 Corvettes in the Ohio Valley range from $80-$100K, and I've seen several used models that crested $100K.
Only this, the R35, and R8 would get me to trade in my 2021 Supra 😍

I did some hot laps with the NSX at the Las Vegas Speedway with Dream Racing. It feels like it is riding on rails on the corners and it screams on the straight away at 130 mph. Being an extreme amature, I only pushed the NSX to 50% of its full capabilities. One of the few supercars you can use as a daily driver and drive it to and back the track as a weekend racer (Porsche and Corvette can also do the same).
I drove the Ferrari 488 GTB and McLaren 570S at Exotics Racing in Vegas (5 laps each). That was an amazing experience.
I'll have to watch this video a little later, but commenting now to say that I have a 2017 NSX, and while I'd never pay the price Acura wants for a new one, as a used car it's pretty fantastic. Downsides: The infotainment is pretty awful, the seats don't have a ventilated option, the sunvisors do not swing to the sides, and the car doesn't have a lot of sound from the factory. To address the last point, today is install date for a Science of Speed exhaust and downpipes :). Pluses: The car is as fast or faster (feels faster) than the '16 Z06 I had, and handles better. And it's gorgeous.

Outstanding video Joe! I just looked at the Acura website and saw that the Nouvelle Blue paint for the NSX is a $6,000 option and I about fell over. I'd love to have a car like that but unfortunately I will have to settle for a Matchbox NSX.

Watching this in 2024. Bought a 2017 last summer. I love it so much 😍! Every exterior view is beautiful. Unlike the C8, which has an unsightly rear end.

JJ ~ just edged weed eated & mowed the yard, whew, now it will rain lol. I like the NSX all versions & years. I like Japanese sports cars, comparing them to American & German - they always offer up unique gizmos or tweaks that other sports cars don't always think of or have. the Audi reminds me a lot of the NSX or either way. it's fun to see you enjoying a test drive. - tony

Jace’s Own World yes that’s true, although he legit did this EXACT same car a few weeks ago...really the only thing I don’t like about the channel. For example, he’s ALREADY reviewed his own brand new GT350R about 3-4 times now, and probably over 15 videos of newer Mustang GTs going over the same things from one review to another. Granted, some of these reviews are comparing vehicles, although there’s no need to continue to go in depth of the same Mustang.There’s plenty of other cars out there to review and they don’t necessarily need to be the latest and greatest models every time. Love Joe and his enthusiastic reviews but a very redundant channel unfortunately.

I, like many, hated the nsx when it came out ONLY because it was a hybrid. But it's grown on me and I LOVE everything else on the car. Simple, beautiful, fast as hell. People just hate on it kuz it's a honda. Take off that badge and slap a porsche badge on it and everyone would be calling it the baby 911 or would be praising it as the everyday supercar. But that badge drags it down in the public eye and it's a dam shame. The 1st gen is my dream car but if I had the money to choose. I would chose the 2nd gen 6/10.

I want a lower cost nsx with the civic type r 4 banger about 425 -450horsepower with electric motors. Same thing as the by just lighter.
It would still get about 3.5sec 0 to 60.
At under $90k it would bring over a lot of corvette buyers who cannot get a corvette and Supra Porsche 718 911 base model buyers and get the Honda factory busy again.

Slow sales due to price and stagnation.
They cannot make enough corvettes between 70 and 90 thousand dollars.
A basically just as fast and tuneable and better looking. NSX with Acura reliability and quality and for that same price would sell out.
And they could simply tune the NSX 6 Hybrid version like after marketers modders for 650 to 700 hp.
And even allow it to cut off 2 cylinders go 30 mpg in normal and eco modes.
This will allow it to sell for higher and not loose resale value because of the NSX 4 Hybrid . 2022.
The 4 cylinder model would not need as expensive brakes and tires suspension and they could probably save some more here and there, maybe even a limited edition base digital manual model, to steal even more Supra and corvette sales.
And since the engine is massed produced, it's probably about $70000 less to make than the $90000 custom Twin Turbo V6
And they could allow it to get 40 mpg in hybrid eco mode by cutting off 2 cylinders.
Just dreaming.

Not sure why the comparisons to the C8. Even a used 2017 NSX is $120-130k compared to a new C8 at $60k for the base and $80 for the Z51. On top of the major price difference, there is a MAJOR difference in build quality and, at the end of the day, reliability. The C8 isn't even in the same league as the NSX on ANY level.

This car would be just about perfect with an interior and infotainment refresh. The exhaust sound is a little bit muted as well.
