He lost it because Lila took it from him without him knowing and Tikki gets it back, Marinette returns the book so Adrien can go back to school... and specifically tells Gabriel to not tell his son.

What is it with liyla, she comes of nowhere and becomes enemies with the first person she sees
Has anyone else noticed that every time marinette got nearly akumatized is because she treated unjustly? It’s her #1 reason to be akumatized! For example, in Zombizou marinette almost got akumatized when she thought that Mrs bustier believed Chloe over marinette and she felt so annoyed at Chloe, and wanted justice.Hawky sent the akuma after marinette, he said “AHahAHhhaAh, the feeling of INJUSTICE, what can be more painful than being punished for someone else’s wrongdoing?” and then in chameleon, she almost got akumatized because she was annoyed of Lila and the fact that everyone believed Lila over her. in this episode, she almost got akumatized because she wanted revenge on Lila and wanted justice (like in the chameleon episode) and almost got named “Princess Justice”
