  • With the global population set to reach 9 billion by 2050, how will food systems keep up?
The future of the global agricultural sector faces several key challenges. Climate change will put increasing pressure on food systems as natural hazards like droughts and flooding become more frequent. Farmers will in turn have to cope with both reduced natural resources and an increasingly competitive market. All in the context of a growing world population.
Innovation in the agricultural sector can help food systems meet these challenges. However, international cooperation will be key to making this a reality.
