By far the best cover I've ever heard of john denver's best ever song. It was one of John's favourites, and I quess it's mine also. Fantastic job Jerry, John's looking down and smiling.

Probably the best cover of any John Denver song I’ve heard since Peter, Paul and Mary covered Leaving on a Jet plane! And the sound is superb. Great job. Very inspirational.

Listening in Providence Rhode Island. TY for sharing this beautiful version of one of the most iconic songs of my youth. My father would always teach to me a simple lesson growing up, a lesson very much told by this song….walk humbly, act justly, and love tenderly, and life will always lend you dignity….TY again! (BTW kind of funny, and I’m not sure if anyone else picks up on this, but you bring an almost Celtic quality to this song….very pleasing)

Excellent job! Great guitar playing and singing and amazing recording technique. Mic placement and choice is spot on. I like that AKG P170. For a low cost mic it does really well. That old Yamaha sound sweet.

On a side note, can I ask you what camera did you use?
Thx so much! I used a Canon 5D mk2 with a prime lens (lens with a fixed focuslength. But this camera can't handle the anti-aliasing very well like you can see in the video at the guitar strings. But these days there are better cmeras to handle the anti-aliasing much better. The sound I recorded with the mics into Logic Pro and added later to the video.
There is a warmth and timbre in your voice, that dovetails with the guitar and makes it a complete performance. Add to that the ambience, and the setting was like being in a coffee shop late in the evening. If you take requests, I hope you may consider "My old Man"
I will do "My Old Man" someday, I like that song.

I have a question about this the akg 170, is possible to connect this mic to the guitar amplifier?
Hi Daniel, thanks so much for your comment :)
The AKG 170 is a condenser mic and needs phantom power. In my case I connected the AKG direct into my Presonus FP10 interface which has a built-in phantom power for each channel, but if you want to connect it to a guitar amp, you will need a separated pre-amp a phantom power.

Hallo Jerry hoe mix jij beeld en geluid. Welke software en is dat lastig!? Dank je.
Hoi Jasper, met deze video heb ik dat met Final Cut Pro op de mac gedaan, maar ik gebruik ook soms Adobe Premiere op de PC. Het geluid neem ik op met de mics die via een audiointerface de computer in gaan en dan wordt opgenomen met Logic Pro X of een ander progamma.
De camera neemt tijdens de opname ook het geluid op. Het geluid van de camera hoeft niet super te zijn, want je gebruikt dat alleen maar om achteraf de video in sync te zetten met de audio opname die op je computer staat.
Een tip is dat als je de opname begint, dat je met je handen een klap opneemt. Dan heb je een harde piek in de wave vorm waardoor je die makkelijk kan herkennen en handmatig de video en audio gelijk kan zetten. Maar in Premiere Pro en Final Cut zit een functie om dat automatisch te doen.

Yes I did :) It's in the original tuning like John used to play this... also like a lot of other songs as Rocky Mountain High, Boy from the Country, Darcy Farrow...

Btw... the Yamaha F series are the lower models, the L series are the higher luxe models. In these days a LL16 is very recommended. I played last week a LL16 when I visited someone.
