Surprise! Mom's out of Town! A different video this week. No fancy video equipment, just two guys, one beer, and an iPhone! hahaha. I took the five older kids to visit my precious grandparents and have a little fun and two of my guys stayed home and surprise me by doing a few things on my never-ending to-do list. A great lesson on teaching little children to work, but more importantly, some beautiful daddy and son time together.
While they made memories, so did we. Spending time with my beloved grandparents, singing together, walking down memory lane and simply taking in their beautiful presence... AND we visited the charming Dutch Village for some FUN and #oldworld inspiration.

I'm crying tears of joy watching Jr. playing. He reminds me of my little boy. My little boy is coming home in 2 days. He's been gone for over a year, on the other side of the planet. I couldn't go visit him because of the virus. I've missed him so much. I can't wait for one of his world famous hugs. He's not little any more, but he's still my baby.

We are getting g close to selling our restoration, and I have my eye on a 2 home property that is perfect, so we can move the elderly relatives right by us. The idea of them landing in a Michigan nursing home makes me nauseous.

I help take care of my grandpa and I have such a tenderness for those in this season. Your kids are GIANTS haha. It’s especially noticeable in aiden and junior. As kids we summered just up the road from the Dutch Village and would sometimes go there on rainy days when the beach was cold & windy. Early on it wasn't much more than a restaurant/cheese shop but it's now become a bit of a destination. I'm told by immigrant Dutch old timers that properly fitted wooden shoes worn with the right socks can be very comfortable.

Joel, when I saw you going into the shop with the yellow yard chickens I was terrified you were going to go thrifting for Angela. then saw it was a meat shop. Phew! You'll be safe there. LOL
I was watching your video, and at the end listening to you singing with your grandfather made me cry but also made me happy you are together. I had to do what you're going through 4 times. With my parents and my husband's parents. It was hurtful and made me very angry. It is the hardest thing in life I think we ever have to do. God Bless, you and your family, and the time you spent together it's priceless.
