Citroën BX 1.9 D first start after 5 months

This is the first start of Citroën BX 1.9 D since 1.11.2016. The start was 6.4.2017. Outside temp was 9 °C. The car was outside whole winter.

If I see the rust at the side of the aircleaner box, I know that the car is probably gone already, right? Or did somebody weld a squaremeter of sheetmetal in it? Engine will for sure outlast the car.

So what did PSA change when they went from this to the DW8? I can tell by the sound and diesel pump (of the dw8) that they're still indirect diesels. The dw8b got an electronic pump i think

As you said the diesel pump got electronic advance control, an EGR and a little bit less displacement

A diesel with a 5800rpm redline? Was this originally a petrol car fitted with a diesel later?
