    I 100% agree with you that "sometimes you need the sweet with the sour" and to take what you need from each deck. I think too many people are binding the deck creator with the creation, not realizing that she is not her decks, and her decks are not her. She was always Christian based, so this transition should not have been a surprise to folks. I also find that most of her decks do deal with shadow aspects of our lives. I, like you also came from a Christian background, so her conversion doesn't bother me. I adore her Goddess Guidance Oracle, the Butterfly Oracle, and the Abundance Oracle. Her decks are a nice chaser for some of the deeper messages from a tarot reading.

    The analogy of lipstick is crazy good! I found this video because I'm considering buying one of DV's tarot before they're all gone. Not having any DV decks, I'm not sure which Tarot to buy. I do think I'll pick up the Ascended Master's deck before it's gone. I like your yin/yang suggestion, too. I recently saw on IG someone matching "The Good Tarot" (barron-reid) along side Nigel Suckling's "Fallen Angels Oracle" and it was a perfect match. Really surprised me. This was a really helpful video. Thank you , Mona!

      The ascended master deck is turning out to be a really good and easy deck to work with!!! oh wow that is such a good deck combo I was actually thinking about pairing the FAO with one (or more) of my DV decks...suck a good idea. Thanks for tuning in xxx

      Thrifty Mystic I don't think you can get the "The Fallen Angel "anymore. I have looked everywhere, I have seen it on Amazon and it is quite pricey. I am saving to buy a copy. If anyone knows where I may find a deck Please let me know!!! Thank you.

    I totally agree that Doreen's decks, while often similar, offer something different. I have a few of her decks (only around 12) and turn to them when I need a big hug kind of reading. I often use them in client readings too especially if they are new to receiving readings as their gentle side is received well by others. I actually find they aren't as fluffy as some think, especially if you 'ignore' the text on the bottom of the cards (if they have any) and opt to focus on the titles which I know are more 'fluffy' than some decks out there but I still think they can be rather balanced. I need to get the magical unicorns, like you said who doesn't love unicorns? I got the Angels of Abundance on a whim and I'm glad I did. From the moment I took it out the box and started shuffling cards were jumping out at me, that is how I select my cards...I use the jumper cards. I'm not the biggest fan of angel decks but really do like that one that is one that can be read a little 'darker' if you wish to call it that by ignoring the text on the bottom. Some of the titles lend themselves to flow either way. I think artwork is a personal thing regardless of the deck, like you I have beautiful decks but they have a card or a few cards that I'm like 'nah don't like that'. Or I have decks others dislike and vice versa. The Angel tarot was the first tarot deck that I actually worked with. I love the angel answers and often pull from it if I want a more direct answer.

      oh I love the angel tarot...and exactly with Doreen or any other deck its a personal journey..you can take in the fluffiness or discard it! and the messages still work fine!! Oh you will love the unicorn deck hee hee!!

    It was so great to see some decks I don´t have yet...it made me decide if I want them or not. But it was kinda painful to watch how you treat the decks and boxes, why so much aggression and restlessness? :-D Sorry, had to say it...it made me anxious watching it.:-D

    Good lord, you DO have a lot of her decks! 😃 Love it! And I love your Lipstick Theory - that's a good analogy. I also appreciate your take on just allowing the cards to speak to you in their own way.
    I've never "followed" Doreen Virtue, so her new path doesn't affect me one way or the other. I've watched a few of her videos over the years, especially where she talked 'cards' with Radleigh Valentine, and I liked her approach. I have three of her decks, and I like them very much - Guardian Angels Tarot, Archangel Power Tarot and Cherub Angel Cards. Strangely, like you, I was only moved to buy them in that last couple of years. I've considered getting her Angel Tarot as well, and after watching your video I have a feeling I will be getting a Magical Unicorns deck. I'm not into unicorns 😐 so I would have turned my nose up at it before, but seeing your cards and feeling your appreciation of the deck has ignited something in me. I think that's what it's all about - that spark of Spiritual Recognition. And that can come from any deck at any time.

      haha I know its ridiculous I just couldn't help myself over the past few months!! how do you find the cherub angel cards?? they would be so cute!! its funny about Doreen she or her decks speak to you at different times on your path like you said any deck at any time!! xx

    • @JudyReadsCards
      @JudyReadsCards Před 7 lety +1

      I bought the Cherub Angels for inner child work. It's good for that. If you approach it from a child-like perspective the images and key phrases speak to you gently and simply. But, cutesy angel-baby images aside, it makes a perfectly usable deck for more grown-up concerns, too. 😀 The cards are quite small, though - only 7.5 x 5 cm.

  • @angeltheitinerantlibrarian

    That is quite a collection. I usually find Virtue's cards a bit too sweet, but I admit there were a couple of decks there I found interesting (the Angel Dreams and the Goddess Guidance). In the end, as I say in the Rivera Tarot Corollary to Ranganathan (Father of the 5 Laws of Librarianship): every deck its reader, and every reader his/her deck. Thanks for sharing. Paz y amor.

    Ah.. Thank you so much for sharing these. I feel as you do about Doreen. I thought I had a good collection, that is until I saw yours. I think I will pull mine out again soon, they have been pulling at me. And I know there are so many more I want to add to the ones I have. I even bought a deck for my son a few years ago and he loved it, he was 8 I think. It was the Cherub Angel cards for children. And he actually did a card a day for quite some time. And put an amethyst with it. He is going on his tween years now, so not so interested anymore, but he keeps his deck!!! Wow got way over on this didn't I.. Anyways, you have a new subscriber. 💜

      Im a bit of a traditional deck user and I dont take any cards out especially when im reading for other people.... but its ok to take the cards out when you are reading for yourself...personally I don't do that for me but its totally fine and personal preference if you do and it makes sense to do that.
