This really brings back the Bleach vibe of how the Hollows are created, how they feed on negative emotions, how they evolve and so on, mostly because they use the asian folklore as inspiration. In this video, we see the journey of Yone and how he became part demon, and how he now hunts them down to protect Ionia, just like Ichigo did.
You are absolutely right, Yone's a straight-up Soul Reaper or perhaps calling him a Visored would be a better fit.

@@estherv.straus7070 His men. The spirit blossom skinline is based on an Ionian myth of two brothers, each commanding their own army, who faced each other in battle until one cut down the other. The start of the video takes place after the dead brother reaches the afterlife. The spirit fox tries to guide him towards what comes next, but the demon of obsession tricks him into straying from the path and exploits his regrets to trap him forever.
Unlike the brother from the myth though, Yone manages to defeat his inner demon and is mysteriously fused with it and brought back to the world of the living.

There's so much to love about this trailer but when I come back to it I always get chills at 2:42 when the demon starts to attack. There's something about the way he moves, with a strange, otherworldly rhythm to his swings and the supernatural strength, it feels like the way a demon might actually fight. And the way his sword seems to tear the plane itself with each swing, these little details make the fight seem so real and primal in a way I very seldom see in animation.

The riot developer who worked on Yone also created champions such as: Xayah and Rakan, Yuumi, Pyke (was his solo project) and Mordekaiser rework! All very original and revolutionary concepts... I feel the brokeness from miles aswell.

That's good news, these are the only champions released in the past 3 years that I actually liked (excluding Yuumi, but I don't really hate playing against her like most other people) even though I don't play them. Powerful, cheesy yet still with enough counterplay and weaknesses to exploit when playing against them. I'm looking forward to Yone even though I'm probably not going to play him as well.
