@allrequiredfields Hah. Lesser polished Maroon 5(s)? I find it restless to compare &contrast artists. Glenn Lewis (a black artist) also has a hint of Stevie but his tracks are refreshing. But he is his own, just like Allen, and who else you named. The truth of the matter: When people indulge their icons, they can't really help how their product turns out. They don't know how to sound any other way. Be tired, but it's only fair to give their voice a chance to tell you something different.

I don't know, its like every time a white dude does the soul thing, their only clear influence is 70's Stevie Wonder. I'm tired of it. Robin Thicke, Tyrone Wells, etc, etc. I'm completely bored with it. The music just sounds like a less polished old Maroon 5. Daptone has nailed it, everything else just sounds like a soul caricature. Just my opinion.
Totally classless for the drummer in such a serious musical project to have no shirt on during a recording an/or broadcasting of...well....anything, but especially music that needs no distractions like Allensmore.
