- Les Poppys is a French musical group of 17 children founded 1946 in Asnières, France by Jean Amoureux as 'Les Petits Chanteurs d'Asnières' and renamed to Les Poppys in 1970. Francois Bernheim, former singer of the group 'Les Roche-Martin' and artistic director for the record company Barclay, discovered the singers in 1970 and decided to create a group called Les Poppys, named after the word 'Pop Music'. Their most popular chanson was 'Non, non, rien n'a changé. It hit the # 1 spot in the Dutch charts on 4 December 1971 and stayed in the Dutch Top 40 for no less than 24 weeks! In the Dutch 'Daverende Dertig' it was the hit of the year. They performed many times on Dutch TV, in particular in Willem Duys' program and on 'Toppop. This performance was recorded on 1 November 1971.

I remember in my childhood growing up in Kansas, my Stepdad (who is from The Netherlands) would play this song a lot and we'd just call it "the French song" and one time his parents came to visit and the tornado siren went off while they were here, and we were in the basement and they started singing the chorus and I got scared and told them to stop because I was afraid the tornado would hear them. Good times.
Here in Breda (Netherlands) the neighbours stil have to swallow this song a few days a month 💥

Poppy's n'ont touché aucun bénéfice de leur succès. Ce furent les impresarii et autres producteurs qui les ont spoliés. Les gosses et leurs parents n'étaient pas aux faits du show business et se sont laissés avoir.

@@S1rWakka I got new informations about the lyrics. It's a song about the sight of a child on the world it's living in. Nothing has changed in decades. It's about war and the child wants to live in peace. I think that's the correct meaning of the song.
