This is right up Orla's alley
Thank you! I was trying to place what I'd seen her in.
What is that??

I think Orla has her head up her ally
I just finished derry girls and I was looking for her shows ❤
Like Orla said: this looks cracker!
It was, my mom and I both loved it.
WAIT THAT"'S ORLA!???
Honestly this show was really entertaining and has a great cast. Have me old school fairy tale story vibes. And Orla is just amazing in this role ❤️
Cool, can't wait for it to premiere and then be deleted a month later for tax purposes.
So? Nothing of value would be lost. 😂
Im currently on Ep 5 now. This was a fun surprise. Enjoying the adventure and Orla is doing an amazing job! Hopefully people give it a chance.

@@MrPGC137 You do realize this is a UK production, right?
@@AmateurSpecialistYou do realize that it's showing on Disney+, right? Really interested to see what showrunner Sally Wainright (Happy Valley, Gentleman Jack) does with something so fantastical in nature. Her previous work is so grounded and intimate.
I’d have watched it anyway based on the trailer, but now I know Sally Wainwright is involved, it’s a definite must watch!
Fable 4 game ?
For a shot in the dark that I randomly read about online, this was alot of fun. Well acted, great story and character development, and an interesting concept. I really liked Louisa Harland in Derry Girls and she was great as Nell. The way they portrayed England in the 1600s in scenery and geopolitics was intriguing and I liked how all the different charcters developed individually then came together. The acting was really good, I could really feel their characters. I liked the way it ended and all the stunts and hand to hand.

If you haven't seen her in Derry Girls or are not familiar with her work.. then this is gonna look like shite.
Fortunately, I have watched Derry Girls a lot, and really loved her in that. This looks pretty good. I would be okay if Disney chose her for a new Pirates of the Caribbean film.

Would be nice if they could keep British history actually British. Why is white culture the only culture that is obligated to be diverse? I don't see an even mix of Mexicans, Asians and Blacks in Shogun, or black panther. Than the left wonders why white republicans feel they are being replaced.

Just more black washing history and girl power nonsense we've seen a million times.

La historia increíble. La música de otro mundo.
Joining the legions of Orla fans lauding this trailer. First thought was “I SAID Orla should get her own show.”
For those unaware: S2 writing has started and there will be a time jump (it wasn't said how long). No hints if S2 has been greenlit to start filming yet.
The series was surprisingly a lot of fun, the ending was a little anti-climatic but throughout was really enjoyable! I was expecting a cheesy, eye-rolling storyline aimed at tweens, like D+ has released in the past, but it's kinda up there with Percy Jackson (not story, yet, ofc) but aimed more for the 16+ teens.
This is basically a simple storyline about the Working Class/Poor VS The Rich. There's no "hidden agenda" in here that some of the terminally online people are screeching about in the comment section. Just a good fun story with some great action scenes with some good music thrown in.
Idk how you find this brain rot entertaining, seek help
Is this based on something? Nice to see something more original for adults on Disney+.
Well, probably not on a specific book, but it looks like they're taking aspects of British folklore with pixies, an elf, and a Herne the Hunter/Wild Hunt archetype and folk tales about historical highwaymen and ladies. Like people might have existed, but pulp stories and dime novels embellished their accomplishments into folklore. Actually I read a description and the elf guy is Billy Blind, a brownie or something like that. So she's probably not a real person, they're sort of doing a magical, mythical spin on highwaymen like Pirates of the Caribbean.
I saw the show i like it
the roaring girl!
I can see the cinema sins meter going off already for the supercut of every time someone says, "Nelly."
Ugh! They don’t talk about TV shows do they? I hope not!
@@GeekWithClipOns they do. They also do commercials and video games, if I'm not mistaken. I love their channel.
@@myrdraal2001 I liked them at first but then I started seeing the major flaw in their format. They also take tons of scenes out of context or just leave out information in order to fit their “review” narrative. It’s all very underhanded and manipulative. They also just straight up don’t seem to understand certain narrative structures that goes beyond their so called satire of a nitpicky asshole. Or they straight up get facts wrong…
I've been watching the Dick Turpin series and an older Nell plays into it...and paranormal elements...
But this looks exciting in the trailer and a good song choice.
I am so use to the voice she used for Orla its all i can hear lol but also i am here for this

A sub-Saharan, black African as royalty in this time period in England? Difficult for me to suspend disbelief on this one!
@@CaptainDarling2020 I love how you guys will watch TV shows about all of these fantastical elements including this one where she obviously isn’t even doing humanly possible things but someone’s skin colour being different is a huge problem. No one said this was supposed to be historically accurate. I mean, none of them actually are with how clean they look or whatever. Just admit that you don’t like people that look different.
@@CaptainDarling2020 Lol OR you can simply avoid the show, It's not like you're forced to watch.
@@thezu9250 Fantasy and sci-fi stories are created around a central point of otherness from our real world. Basically, an author’s answer to a ‘what if - - - were true.’
I can’t have claimed to have watched Renegade Nell, but it seems that the point of otherness stems from the existence of fairies. Because fairies exist, Nelly gets powers.
Because there is only one point of otherness, we are able to suspend our disbelief, and as long as all things in the show stem from this, it works. If, in the show, fairies result in a man from Africa living the life in 17th century British high society, that’s cool. That actually would be pretty interesting, and add dimension to his character.
However, if it is simply a choice to be politically correct, it doesn’t work. It’s a random insert, as blatant as the coffee cup in Game of Thrones. It breaks reality in a way that is unrelated to the point of otherness.
Not trying to sound attackitive. Just debating in friendlyness :)
@@CruthadairfoDhiaBlack communities existed even in Elizabethan times, and affluent black Africans were sprinkled throughout high society in all of Europe. Read up on the history of the Medici, or the ambassadors of various African countries to European courts. There is also plenty of evidence in court records on interracial marriages (since in Tudor England eyes you were good as long as you were a Christian, skin colour or country of origin were less important as long as you had learned a trade and paid your taxes). Perhaps update your perception of historical Europe lest your suspension of disbelief be endangered again. ;-)
@@quintrat Interesting. I was not aware of that. Could please you provide some sources?
