Dude thanks for doing this video. I needed to do both of these and you did a fantastic job explaining it all. Take care
You actually put the wrong type of speakers on the rear deck. When you have the bose system, those rear deck speakers aren't full range. They're actually mid bass woofers. So if you're still using the factory amp, the only signal that should be going to those speakers are high lows and low mids. So the tweeters in your new coax speakers aren't doing anything. You'll get much better bass out of the entire system if you put actual mid bass woofers back there.
I’m aware of this but the Crutchfield site suggested to run them anyway and noted there would be no highs coming from them. I think I’ll keep it for now but may switch it up in the future!
Great video! I did the same exact speaker upgrade in my 2001! Had the same problem with having to get the 5s for the back doors, but great sounding speakers 👍 if you upgrade the amp from an S6 they can sound even better (so I’ve heard)
I loved the Bluetooth module I had on my Mk1 TT. So nice to have it OEM+.
I have a 2001.5 S4 I went with the 2 ohm infinity speakers for the front and rear doors. Left tweeters and rear decklid speakers stock. I tried many different 2 ways and "compact subwoofer" options for the 6.5" spaces in the decklid and nothing carried the bass like the stock Bose speakers. Without a subwoofer they are the only source of bass in the sound system but they do a surprisingly good job (assuming the dust caps aren't coming unglued). I added a 10" subwoofer with speaker level inputs to fill in the lower bass, and added a D2 S8 amplifier which is 200W versus 80W from the stock bose B5 amp. Overall the system sounds great. I should add that it is difficult to find a good setup for the B5s considering the Bose is a 2 ohm system. If I recall correctly there are a fair amount of 4 ohm 6.5" woofer options, but nothing in 2 ohm at the time I was doing my sound system. Great video here!
Thanks for a fun video. Need to do this in my B5 for the rear deck. Replaced the door speakers but the rear is lagging behind especially in the bass department.
Bluetooth is an awesome upgrade! Unfortunately in my C4, there isn’t an option to add Bluetooth to the Blaupunkt/Bose Delta CC radio. So I tinkered a bit and came up with a solution to feed Bluetooth Audio streaming via the tape deck. The Bluetooth module is completely concealed inside the original radio. Any with a C4 who’d like to do this can find my Audizine writeup 😄
Hi thanks for this it's just what I need to do! I have a 2000 B5 S4 Avant, do you know if speakers in rear doors of avant are same 5.25 as your sedan and also where did you get the speaker plate?
I got 1 l7 square kicker 12 does the job in my b5
I'm a duel 12in sub kinda guy. Thats the only speakers I need xD
Eli are those 4ohms? Was there any problems using factory amp.
Nice 👍👍I have a b5 over seas and the noise of the radio is not good now I now what to do thanks
What size speakers did you use?
Are you getting your info from erwin manuals or from the forums? Always providing great info!
Infinity Reference 375tx 3/4 (19mm) are the tweeters I put in with no issues. Try that.
Dude my passenger speaker does the same thing! It finally just went completely😁🤣
When your ready to do the heater core lmk I have a special trick where u don’t have to take the dash apart when your ready lmk
Great video.
Awesome I need to upgrade mine as well. You kept the factory Bose amp? No problems?
Whats the wheels of the car?
Crutchfield is showing that the Crux bluetooth module wont work on the Bose oem stereo but it looks like you have the Bose. Does it actually work on the Bose?
I have a 2000 s4 I'm going to be selling just curious what you paid for yours
Crazy how good and inexpensive car Audio has gotten compared to 20 years ago.
