At least ghost from what I have seen and heard of them so far are at least keeping the spirit of music and performance alive. Something that is lacking in today's artists. It's like seeing another movement arise...when I was younger the Punks, New Romantics and Goths were around...then all the Britpop and talent show bands...music needs to re-invent itself and shock people every so often and I think Ghost have done a wonderful job in doing just that. Their music is a mix of the human soul...light and dark...that's why they appeal to so many...you get the choice of a more poppy number or a darker piece of music...I like bands that can be as versatile as this...they're trailblazers.

There just need to be more Satanic bands and influence.
It's not about shock value (slayer is a good band but they just thought satan was super evil and dark)
The reality is that Lucifer means light bringer and in Ghost's music you can see that there is a weird type of salvation or belonging in the Satanic theatrics by calling the fans "clergy" even if it does give into that "temptation" trope a bit more than I'd like.

hard rock and roll/heavy metal fans talk about "death metal", "black metal", "goth metal", "obscure metal", "evil metal"............... Still, these types (variations of heavy metal music) are just children's game when it comes to comparing them to "satanic and dark music", like "Satan Hymns" that I was listening to a few months ago ................ those very dark-evil tunes put a chilly feeling in my heart, I felt like really hearing the sounds of the very Satan, playing his darkest melodies in a haunted black forest, full of maleficent entities and dwelling unholy spirits.

The Lore is that that was Papa Nihil when he was younger. The Dance Macabre video shows his beginnings, Kiss the Go Goat was after, and Mary on a Cross was kind of his apology towards Sister Imperator. (Or at least that's how I interpret it)
