President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, preside over the presentation of newly inked agreements that emphasize the deepening partnership between the two countries in a ceremony at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace on April 22, 2024.
His Highness the Amir’s State Visit to the Philippines, upon the gracious invitation of President Marcos Jr., marks a significant step in bolstering bilateral ties between the two countries and signifies their shared mutual commitment to further elevate their relations.
Among the highlights of the visit are multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and strategic initiatives designed to boost trade and investment flows, deepen collaboration across diverse sectors, and jointly tackle pressing global challenges such as climate change and human trafficking.
This momentous occasion marks the first State Visit of the Amir of the State of Qatar to the Philippines in over a decade, serving as a testament to the flourishing bilateral relations wherein both leaders have a platform to discuss issues affecting both the regional and broader international community.
