Idk. Daredevil was great. That’s a big run. The dark knight returns speaks for itself. I think all of sin city was great. 300 was great. But yes.. the longer he goes on and does more and more crap…. It’s harder to think of anything but the bad stuff
You make valid points, Batman's characterization here is a complete 180 compared to the DC crossover, here Batman is acting too much of a bully channeling his Dirty Harry and calling everyone a punk. Frank Miller is just way overrated I will always consider TDKR and Year One some his best work but his heyday is long gone the recent drawing of Wolverine that Frank did sucks ass.
Does Spawn's mask come and go as it wants in the comics? Because in that splash page of Batman kicking him in the back, he doesn't have it, but in the previous page, the mask was on. And then the next page it's off again. Is this a Spawn magic thing, or is it stupid Rob Liefeld inconsistency shit?
I think FM's thinking was that he would just crap out something quick and easy and simple for the $$. I worked for Capital City distribution when this came out and it was just an enormously hugely ordered book. But yeah, it probably took him like 15 minutes to plot and script, and he made a trillion $$
I love the flat black batman, makes him look more monstrous and mysterious (creature of the night). You only show the cowl and costume to emphasize his humanity. That said I think McFarlane's Batman looked better in his Year Two issues, different cowl and cape shapes.

Imagine writing Dark Knight Returns and Batman Year One...and then going on to write Spawn/Batman and All Star Batman. Miller should never touch Batman again. He lost the plot.

To be honest DKR isn't all of that either. Sure it's good, but it's extremely overrated.
This book was so disappointing. But, not as disappointing as the DC version.
