With the release of Master Duel, of course we had to figure out a way to implement the traditional From Scratch series and it may be a lot more difficult than expected! No buying gems, No crafting and the heart of the cards. Can we still make it to Plat 1?

Let’s go!!! This is the era of F2P players!! You could try to make a Utopia deck from scratch since you have Ray V. I’m currently trying to make a Dark Magician deck from scratch
U can build utopia because for your first 1500 gems u earn just buy three of the structure deck and your pretty much set

Utopia is so based. Got me top 4 in multiple MD tourneys so far
I built a Utopia Deck and I got to Gold 4 with it. Revz! MAKE UTOPIA! Trust me I did and got to Gold.
I love this. For sure you should spend a few gems on those master packs (but you know, those bundles that cost sometjing like 700 gems and gives you free staples like ash, solemn judgment and lightning storm)
Then when you open some ultra and super rares, you check what secret boosters did you unlock and start buying one of those so you can build s deck from that
This right here I feel is the strat. Get started with some solid staples and unlock the secret packs
Agree here. Those 3 packs for 750 each gave me rather nice directions. :) And give you enough space to get more gems from next day.
This is exactly what I did for my f2p account.
there is zero reason to spend on master packs is there ? everything in master packs is in every secret pack , so just unlocking any good secret pack through Stalwart Forces then opening the Master Pack seems by far the most direct route to good cards
after the bundles of course, the bundles are top value
I’m excited for this series I might try this too just starting over but I don’t think I could do it without crafting

This is the series I have been wanting to see. As someone who hasn't played yugioh in almost 20 years this is awesome to watch.
Honestly the 3 bundles are your best start. Basically cheap master packs and 3 free staples. Can't beat that

Since a lot of the UR staples don't have any secret packs associated with them I imagine they'll be quite the pain.
No Maxx C or Called by the Grave are the biggest ones that come to mind along with copies 2 and 3 of ash blossom.
I wonder if Prank Kids might be the way to go, though getting their secret pack would be an issue. Tri-Brigade and its variants are also readily available.
Stalwart Force will probably be quite good to open as well given that it has Twin Twister and Pot of Desires in it. Especially with all the Eldlich on ladder atm.
you can get maxx c & called by from any secret pack, xP just have to be lucky , the top secret pack hand traps though are Gamma & Nibiru , add Droplets to those & you have 8 great going second cards vs combo , burns Tons of gems though
Craft a prank kid card unlocks secret pack
You could also add winning a DLM (MasterDuelMeta) tournament to this challenge since at the moment that is the most prestigious/competitive tournament for Master Duel

Right when I was thinking about doing one of these, the big man does it! No crafting is gonna be hard, and honestly the gem prices are bad so it's probably not advisable in the first place, but good luck man.
Oh my f2p with no crafting will be interesting especially since certain staples are hard to achieve.

Just started playing the game so I'm pretty much lost on what deck should i get that's why I'm kinda glad you made this video :)
hey revs i really wanna know do u consider the bundles as a valid option the ones with ash/lightning/judgment cause if so then u could start by opening them as they are 10 packs of the "core" set with a discount and an extra promo them u choose which deck to build based on what u open on the 30 master packs
The problem is, after you grind out all the story gems and starter gems it becomes exceptionally hard to get gems and the cards you want. Even with crafting, getting URs is hard on like your 2nd/3rd Deck. Worse thing about this challenge is that some cards cannot be pulled in the secret packs and can only be pulled in the (over 8000 card pool) master pack, plus factoring in rarities. You'd have to find the perfect deck with all the pieces in that pack and some packs with affordable staples whilst keeping this budget in mind. THIS is a real challenge, and I wish you luck

I'm just making infinite new account s I've got 7 on my switch and 10 on steam just to build decks with the free gems. I'm not giving those criminals a cent. And if you were wise you'd do the same. Look at the prices on gems yeesh

I'd love to see the series take shape out of a lucky pull from the bundles, though failing that Stalwart Forces could be the best gateway into an ideal Secret Pack

I cannot believe you pulled both a UR and SR in 1 legacy pack, I've probably opened 100 of them now and I can only remember getting 2x SRs you did more than that in 3 packs.

I like how you always put up a challenge, I think that allowing the crafting without dismantling but using only the currency obtained playing the game was fine but you're one step ahead lol Good luck, can't wait to see what deck the pulls will choose for you 😊
I play a utopia deck. if played right with numeron dragon, you can otk or switch it for number 38 for that very needed spell negate

Seeing this for the first time and starting a new account, I can definitely see that Komami was wayyyyyyy more generous with cards back then than they are now lol
the most f2p decks that ive seen that are good are monarchs and pendulum magician, so a good idea is to eiter buy 3 of the stucture and try to save the gems or get risky with the deck.
I prefer decks like prank kids and frightfurs. Monarchs can only go so far same with pendulum

I still find it funny that the Queen is a qualified diesel mechanic.
You could build salamangreat its is really cheap, all from one secret pack, just add some solo awards cards and you got a really good deck
If you get over 10k gems it just goes into your gift box where you can reddem it for a specific time which is pretty long
I'm actually doing a fun thing like this just using master packs to see what I can put together.

There are so many decks to choose, it's harder to pin this down than the queen elizabeth death
I honestly forgot about the structure decks. I thought you were going to use the story mode unlocks to play budget tri-brigade with no fire formation, gamble on the ash bundle, or use the meta selection box and unlock a decent archetype from it. Still good luck reaching plat without crafting hand traps or extra deck staples.
You could build fluffal becuase they are pretty cheap except the fusions

You can go above 10k btw, it just puts them in your gift box for 30 days

It'll be hard to get the secret packs since you can't unlock them through crafting which means you also miss out on the "free first pack for discovery through crafting".
Maybe instead of completely not using the dismantling system you can make a challenge that unlocks it but you can only use the dismantle material you get from missions or the battle pass etc
can you play the "OG" way in this game? I mean, no link, pendulum, XYZ or synchro summon.

Episode 2 is where it really start I wonder what you are gonna play, prank kids are fun and all contained to a secret pack but you are gonna need to pull one to unlock the pack

You can also try building a magistus deck, it is F2P friendly most of the main deck are normal and rare cards , and also in the extra deck , some of the cards are rare :)
I think for the gems, you should get the 2-3 bundle deals first. The rate is much better than just buying master packs normally. Afterwards, you can buy Secret Packs or Stalwart Force.
Well the utopia structure deck with only slight changes easily got me to gold 2 so far by playing casual. They can easily get high damage and have a few negates and non targeting and destruction immunity effects

Honestly the utopia structure might be the way to go you truthfully aren't missing a ton from the full power deck
Maybe you could do challenges review, similar to the last series, instead you just make it after a 5 win streak you can craft a UR ?

Feels like a utopia deck from scratch would be the easiest for you to make as an f2p cause of the 3 structure decks and all the staples we get
I would put a challenge where every time you rank into a new rank (silver gold etc) you can craft any 3 off card that way you can only rank up so many with a limited amount of crafting otherwise you’ll end up hitting a brick road
the extra gems go to the gift box
The best thing I've gotten out of the legacy packs thus far has been Jinzo.
10k is the limit, if you have more gens than that it will be stored within your present/mail for I forgot how many days

diamonds become so scarce later in the game i think implementing challanges to unlock crafting maybe a good idea for u not to get stuck doing 1000's of duels with a lack luster deck just myopinion though

U should have some mechanic to be able to craft like one episode u can craft 1 card
Get blue eyes to rank one, gives the legacy packs some worth to hopefully pull a third blue-eyes
Gem cap at 10k means any further claimed gems go to your gift box and stay there for 30 days befor vanishing, just fyi.
The best deck to try and get is probably prankids, they are all low rarity cards except the links, you just Need some Staples to go on with it
