  • With the weather warming up, finally managed to get some clear coat on the frame without it going weird. So now time to build it up and get it back to its owner! hopefully you enjoy the end result?

Gear shifter try removing the entire sticker using lighter fluid to break down the glue. Then clean any residue on the shifter plastic using the lighter fluid. Use a bookbinders glue to reattach the laminate to the sticker then double sided tape on the sticker surface to reattach to the plastic. Lighter fluid is brilliant for removing old stickers, cleaning whitewalls and loads of other things. Almost got all the parts for my lowrider, should have a few uploads covering it soon. Will keep you posted if you want. Great content thanks for sharing.

Hi mate that is a mk2 crossover and is quite a rare bike 🚲 I'm just referbing one now on my channel and do believe your friend should have let you go further with it as it looks like a rusty wreck. At least give the frame a tcut to bring out more colour before the clear coat and done a bit of work on the mudguards and breaks to make them a bit shiny. To me the whole thing is a pointless exercise as it pretty much looks the same as when you started but each to their own. Cheers 🍻

Hi, I agree with you on what stage it should or could have gone, as it was not mine, I carried out the owners wishes. He has it on display and wanted it "rideable" of sorts, but wanted it preserved as he found it, as it was in his uncles hedge - after he had left it 30 - 40 years previous. It is more a sentimental piece than anything, so preserving it sort of as is, preserves the story too.

You'll be getting through a set of brake blocks per ride with the state of them rims

Yeah, totally agree. Its back with its owner on display, think its more memories than rideable he wanted.

Never did divulge how you managed to free up the sissy bar ? Unless I missed “Episode 3” but I cannot find it.

Those washers for the rear wheel go on the inside of frame not on the outside as you fitted them

It’s done as the owner wanted - he wanted it rusty but rideable 👍
