- In this episode of Scan My Brain, Producer (and Miley Cyrus' mom) Tish Cyrus visits Dr. Daniel Amen at Amen Clinics in Orange County metro in hopes of discovering some answers regarding her anxiety, which has at times been crippling. Health Anxiety is described as an obsession with the idea of having a serious but undiagnosed medical condition.
Do you constantly worry about having a serious health issue? Do you frequently check your body for signs of illness, such as lumps, skin changes, numbness, tingling, irregular heart palpitations, or pain? Health anxiety can be debilitating-negatively impacting work, personal relationships, and basic daily functioning.
Actress/producer Tish Cyrus, the mother of pop singer/songwriter Miley Cyrus, suffered for many years from health anxiety.
“I was just always worried about my health,” she says. “And that happened for a long time until my mom literally forced me to go see a doctor and get on some medication.”

Thank you Tish for doing this. Brain health is probablly one of the biggest problems that we face. Thank you Tish for bringing attention to such a important issue. I think in the future we will be able to prove that the number 1 killer of humans is brain disease. Adressing brain health now is just a smart move for humanity.

I deeply can feel how she feels. I am an adopted child by birth and i know exactly what she is on about. Bless her and congratulation to her adoptive parents !! R.I.P. 🙏 I happened to get to meet my bio mom and i was very sad and disappointed from what i saw...My mother, adoptive, i mean cos this is my real mother and i miss her so much has passed away too in 2020 and i am still moarning..My father has passed away as well in 2000 and it s all devastating. I suffer from anxiety too and i totally understand Tish. She is such a lovely person . Bless her and she is such a great support to Miley ...I know ... So i send her blessings and love and all the best in life sent from above ❤❤ Also thank you for sharing this with us ... 🙏🙏

This is enlightening to watch, the only thing I don’t like, really don’t like is that you don’t get to see the person come back and say what they’ve done and what helped, if it helped.

I'm glad Lexapro helped her but for me and many others , it caused me to want to steal.
And I have never stolen a thing in my life.
I stopped taking it and the thoughts of stealing left me.
Cool. I learned stuff. Like Lexapro works for some people, and how antibiotics mess up your gut.
Lexapro dulled all my feelings for years, even taste and libido. It did make me calmer but sedated, almost, and less aware of things that I should’ve been aware of.
@@leahsmith2078 Wow, okay thanks. Maybe, it works different for different people then. I have Alexithymia, so I already cant really tell what emotion I'm having. I have like 5 at the same time, and don't really pinpoint 1. My emotional intelligence is probably around 55%. I don't really think it can be learned. But, some people say otherwise.
@@gabriellalaplace yeah it helped me with the social anxiety I had a lot. But it should be paired with counseling and I didn’t do that
I forgot to say. I've dreamt about 6 times , and I'm 32. 4 or 5 of those times were when I wasn't using medication. I just read, it could be because of antidepressants. I take 3 medications, one of them may be an antidepressant. Also, dreaming less often and less vivid is common in Aphantasia. I'm nearly completely a dreamless machine.
The Lexapro gave me thoughts of stealing so it didn't work for me either.
I also fainted once while taking it.

You can’t be that close minded ? Money makes things easier but everyone still struggles with depression & anxiety. Some say more money more problems & being beautiful comes with crap too. Most beautiful women are se%ually assaulted very early on. No one is unscathed from the wrath of this world. We all suffer.
