Shame. So many homeless people. Blackpool is sadly a shadow of its former self. Remember going for holidays there in the 60's and early 70's. Mum thought there was nowhere like it. Was such an exciting place then. All the stars such as Cilla Black, Les Dawson and many more used to perform throughout the summer seasons, as well as Charlie Cairoli, at the Tower Circus. Scottish weeks were always the busiest and there was always plenty to do. Moving on, Blackpool was a great night out and coach parties used to head there regularly. Doesn't look the same now. Would be nice to see those days return. 😉

I guess if you just stick to your hotel and the tourist stuff on the prom and don't go anywhere else you'll be ok. Otherwise skip the inner city areas and get out beyond Blackpool if you can. St Annes to the south, and Cleveleys to the north are better.
To be fair Blackpool is still clinging on, still pulling punters and family holiday maker’s which is great to see, but a massive amount of uk’s seaside towns are becoming ghost towns and riddled with poverty, drugs, unemployment and homelessness, it’s so sad to see our once loved places just driven into the ground and the government under funding town council’s so they stand no chance of catching up with upkeep and repairs and maintenance etc 😢

Blackpool is finished. They've tried and failed to turn it around for decades. It's beyond repair now. The truth is that Blackpool is deliberately used by central government to house people with substance abuse issues and foreign migrants. However they don't provide any social support so you get these problems. But it's a long way from London and no one in Blackpool votes Tory anyway.
