- We knew this camper had quite a bit of water damage when we got it, but it has taken so much work to repair. This camper is truly a full camper renovation. The windows were clearly leaking, so they had to come out. I removed the front windows, cleaned them up and continued to replace all the window gaskets. I knew they needed replaced in order to keep as much water out as possible. So, while I worked on repairing all the vintage windows, Keith rebuilt the entire front end of the camper. No, but we are in the historic district. We are free to do any updates we want, because we aren't registered. Still have to file for permit and fun stuff like that, but that's it! Thanks!😊

I am no expert but shouldn't you put a bead of silicone caulk behind screw holes before attaching windows? Would prevent water leaking in screw hole areas.
Welllll, you have me scratching my head. I watched several video tutorials and they all put butyl tape on, then siliconed around the edges of the windows. I guess I'll let you know when it rains!😅😳
Where did you get your smaller gasket? I have been searching all over for some small like yours - even vintage camper supply did not have what I need. Thanks in advance.
I got mine from www.vintagetrailergaskets.com Robert is the owner and was so nice in helping me find what I need. If you don't see what you need, then definitely call. He walked me through everything and is very knowledgeable about gaskets. You can tell he loves vintage trailers! 😅Good luck with your renovation! 😊

Yes, typically. However, we haven't had any rain in a long time. Our grass is very brown and it's dry out. It's actuality been perfect timing. We currently have the rest of the windows out, so I hope the rain continues to hold off!
