Brief Summary of this video: The quote at the beginning is Ruby's feelings towards her mother with a lot of symbolism of the seasons. if you didn't notice, as Ruby walks through the forest in the beginning, it goes from October, to Winter, to Spring, back to October. that's only 3 seasons, because Summer is gone. In the Red Trailer, Ruby shows a playful little smile as she kills the beowolves. In this, Ruby is not shown to have a smile proving that she is more unstable emotionally in this scene. As Ruby fights, her grief begins to take over as she starts seeing her mother staring back at her in the forest. Ruby is overcome with sadness. As Summer Rose turns to walk back into the forest Ruby chases her, not seeming to care about the possibility of Summer just being in her imagination. as the fight goes on, more Grimm show up, attracted by the scent of Ruby's emotions. in the end Ruby is unarmed with her hood ripped off. In one final push towards her mother Ruby uses her speed semblance to go straight through the final grimm like a bullet. Only when she reaches out to her mother, Summer scatters into white petals. 'Thus Kindly I Scatter'
Ruby watches as the petals fly off into the sunset. Now coming back to the cold realization that Summer is not coming back. all leading back to the symbolism in the beginning of the video.
Brief little summary of this project: I started this video on 7/14/2022. it's been about 7 months since I started. The last project I had animated was the Dead Fantasy Alternate video, which was made in Source Filmmaker. I helped animate both of the RUBY OVA's on Cake Stations channel, however this is the first project I have done completely by myself in Blender. I learned a lot during this project, enough to where I wish I can go back and make a lot of things better. But I can't keep spending time on this project, I have to move on even if I couldn't execute it as well as I wanted. - Krátké a kreslené filmy

I feel like this is some sort of poetry, but to me it feels like an advanced visual pun there.
I love how they actually made her use the blade at the bottom of her polearm
tbf it's original purpose is of a counterweight for the huge scythe rather than another method of attack - very cool nonetheless though!
@@RoyalShadow42 i mean, that doesnt really make much sense, a heavy weight would be a better and safer counterweight, if its not meant to be stabby, why it stabby shaped, definitely needs to be utilized, otherwise why have it,
that aside this animators use of it was so creative, genuinely got me hyped the way the original trailer did
You've done Crescent Rose justice with all of those creative multi-target kills. This portrays the full ridiculous awesomeness that is the sniper scythe
I love this! Ruby literally chasing after her mother and walking in her footsteps while fighting off the Grimm. Like if she is fast enough she could save her, but at the end, she is still gone. so sad...
She might not be completely gone though, since Salem would turn Silver Eyed people into grimm abominations or whatever, like in that one episode, either way prolly not getting her back though.
It’s this kind of idea that makes me disappointed that Rubys semblance isn’t explored more, or anyone’s for that matter
You have a superpower based on who you are as a person that’s is ripe for story potential and maybe having the power change as the person does, would be cool

Ruby's Semblance is literally RUNNING and the fact that she can't make it in time to save the one's she loves (Her mother in this scenario or Pyrrha in the canon series), that has got to be devastating that the one thing your Soul gave you isnt enough.

It lost what made it special focusing so much on magic and the Divine and artifacts. still have no idea what differentiates Semblances and Aura to Magic in this world. it doesnt seem unique enough when Semblances seem to have a wider range of stuff it can do.
Watching the sequence where Ruby was using Crescent Rose's blade folded with the handle extended made me realize something.
In a pinch, Ruby's baby would make a decent club.

@@wellidontknow1941 The Shaw Brothers studios were some of the greatest Hong Kong movie studios from back in the days before the big handover. They did a lot of kung fu movies back in the day, and their fight choreography was top notch.
I really like this overall. I love the elegant brutality you added to Ruby's fighting style, and that you let her remember she's got a polearm, and that it's sharp on both ends. The visual storytelling, with her chasing her mother's memory and example, was also fantastic. However, I couldn't help but notice that Ruby's animations felt a bit stiff, especially when she was walking or running. And I don't think she ever seemed to reload, which is one thing RWBY, at least in the early days, actually did keep track of.

@@AKMotions the running was fine when it was slow. It's just the bits where she goes flash that stand out as stiff. Overall it was good. The crescent looked a little too think at times. That would be good in some scenarios to show the sharpness but somehow it looked off.
Yh the reloading bit was out there since I've watched the trailer a lot.
Hot _damned,_ that was insane! You channeled such raw Monty energy into this, might even have pushed his style further than he did in some places. That skiing section was downright amazing. A lot of the animations are still pretty rough and there's a bit of jumping around with characters and models... but the sheer charisma and confidence pull it all together and the fight comes across beautifully. Bravo!

Oh my god, I adore this. The way you extended the sequence to both fit Red Like Roses Part 2 and have us go through the same emotions as Ruby towards her mother, that was everything. Also, never knew I needed a fight scene where Ruby is sledding on a Grimm corpse, but I'm thankful it exists now.

I miss this kind of fighting in the show, everything feel so masterfully done and I can't stop repeating sequence after sequence because is just goes to show how perfect it is.

Daaamn, I wish Monty could see this. This is awesome, fantastically animated and gave me some chills at how epic it is, I miss this old style for RWBY, a show with such beauty and potential.
That was hands down the best fanmade RWBY animation I've ever seen, it was just as good as the Red trailer ! The creativity in the fight choreography is so much better than what Rooster Teeth do now, the fights used to be so cool looking until volume 4, and THIS is the kind of fight animation we need in the new RWBY volumes. They need to hire you 😭
For real, when Ruby used her semblance to blast a hole through the grim I was to hype.
Absolutely loved that instead of trying to completely recreate the red trailer bit by bit, you did your on thing. Giving us a fresher take on the red trailer but still encapsulating what made the red trailer so great in the first place

It was pretty lucky I made this right when Summer and Red Like Roses pt 3 dropped.
One of the best fan animation and gift to OG RWBY. You not only recreate the Monty fighting style, while creating new choreography that is just as engaging. But you also made a captivating and well-thought-out narrative about Ruby's character all through visual storytelling…. Simply amazing! Well done!

very impressive! I love how fresh and interesting the fight choreography was, and the way you had ruby use every single part of her weapon, including the spear at the bottom. It really felt like ruby was part of crescent rose and that her body was a weapon as well, the two working in perfect conjunction with one another. i also think the direction is beautiful, ruby chasing summer's ghost and the timing with the songs. well done

Body stinging from the carnage it had doled out, Ruby Rose once again found herself at the gravestone, cold winter air threatening to freeze anything in its path.
Tears sliding down her face, she slumped into the snow, her scythe-gun, Crescent Rose, falling from her grip.
"Another.. hallucination."
She thought she was past this. Accepted her mother was in the past, a part of history, never to step foot again upon this mortal plane.
Yet, recently, she'd seen what appeared to be her, in her long white cloak, her kindly smile, inviting her to come to her.
Discarding all logic, she'd drop whatever she'd been doing, and race outside into the snow, into the Grimm-filled forest and try desperately to reach her mother.
Yet despite the tears and pain, it all led her back here to her mother's gravestone.
She'd been coming home late into the night, covered in bruises, and cried herself to sleep.
If she wanted to get into Beacon Academy, she had to stop this, focus on her classes at Signal.
She ought to be studying more, yet here she was, chasing after ghosts.
"I'm sorry..." she said to the world, and proceeded to burst into tears in front of the gravestone, the winter snow falling gently.
.....this would have lent more gravity and personality to Ruby tbt.
I think you got the chops to be a scriptwriter. I'd be more invested in Ruby if she was like this.
The reason I animate is to eventually be able to tell a story that inspires and motivated others the way my favorite shows and artists motivate me.

This made me feel for Ruby and made her loss actually feel real. Way more than the show.
Such a fun and passionate idea. The fighting is pretty great. Some of the ideas are just awesome and really made full use of Ruby's arsenal.
And I know this is probably less noticed bit my gawd there are some moments of cinematography in this that are just amazing.
My favorite part is the ending. The visual storytelling and intensity of the fighting make such well done buildup and the payoff gave me chills.. She fights her way through, but in the end gets stripped of her weapon and her hood of mystery, revealing the war-born child that she is who just wants her mom back and has come to live the warriors life just like her mom also.
Ofc there's clunky action moments or shots which didn't flow as well, but this was still so amazing. This deserves to go viral and get the recognition that the Team SLVR trailers have. Clearly lots of love went into this. 👍😄
wow. i thought I was going to see a cool remake of the red trailer but holy crap i wasn't expecting this much effort into it. Like you actually made it that it could've been canon or what the original trailer should have been for RWBY to start off the franchise that would make sense instead of retconning. I'm not shaming the previous original trailer, but this is actually consistent and has reasoning/meaning why the grimm looks like that without words and shows it can still work. Like i didn't even thought of this way at all. By Ruby wasn't just test fighting but searching and saw her mom so she tries her best to find where she could be, while showing similarities of her mother, going pass drought, doubt, and anger to come across the truth of it at the end of where she believes the last time of seeing her again. This is from my perspective of it, still im blown away that this has depth to ruby then making her a kid that likes guns and wants to be a hero. And i'll be honest, if this is the red trailer, this would be my number one compare to the others for sure.
Hey AK. I want you to know that if Monty saw this, I know that he’d be proud that he would inspire artists like yourself. It’s comforting to know that there are people like you that can emulate and perfect your own talent to create something extraordinary like this.

Unfortunately. If I want to continue growing. I can't keep making animations of a community that is too small to gain recognition. The RWBY community will limit me if I stay in it for too long. But honoring Monty's legacy doesn't have to involve things he has already worked on.

this is absolutely genius. i love this. its so sad that rwby went the way it did in the later seasons, it had so much potential. im glad that at least the fanbase is alive
This is actually amazing, it’s awesome seeing everything utlized in this fight! The scythe, gun, the grim themself?! God even the weird little spike at the end of ruby’s scythe. Actually amazing.
The amount of stuff you thought of using her recoil is what I wish they kept doing for her, this was so sick. The fact that her recoil can move her around was what made me think her weapon was so cool in the red trailer
this honestly brings me back to the earlier volumes 😭 THIS IS SO WELL PACED. there are some monty elements here ESPECIALLY the fight sequences which i think is heavily inspired by him. BUT i love how you also incorporated your own style and flavoring into this. this is made with pure passion and love. wishing you the best, AK! and who knows we might see you one day making your own show.

1. this is how I imagined ruby found summers grave on her own, tai or yang didn't lead her here, cause of the amount of grimm she found it when she was 9 or 10
2. HOLY HELL DUDE this shit is INSANE!!! I know I'm not supposed to pause it cause of the song but the amount of time I pause to go " THE CINEMATOGRAPHY" or " THE SHOTS" is a lot. the bloom and speed line were on point too.
3. bro you think about everything, the snow, the wolf noises for the grimm, hell the grimms decomposing body, and ruby slides down the hill it's incredible. you look like you're having just as much fun with ruby's scythe as Monty did and it's great

Not going to lie, I have two thoughts after watching this:
1: if they every remake RWBY, I would want this to be the basis of reinterpreting the Red trailer. A solid start without dialogue to connect the audience to the character.
2: If RWBY ever did get remade/I was lucky enough to be one of the people behind a remake project, I would want to hire animators like you and those who assisted you because we need more animators who try to emulate Monty's style in this world. I am impressed.

I never thought I’d find anything that could outdo the Red trailer, but I think you did just that. Of course, there are some animation and model errors here and there, but wow. Your choreography is absolutely stunning, I had to rewind and rewatch certain parts because I was just in shock of how creative you got! And that skiing section was NUTS! And the fact that you tied it all into Ruby’s story and searching for her mother and following in her footsteps is just absolutely wonderful. I cannot give you enough praise for this. Well done!

THIS feels like RWBY. After season 6 RWBY lost its touch, and everything didn't feel the same. This feels like when I first started getting into RWBY, the animation, the fast fighting, the music, and the love in the animation. Thank you for making this!!
This genuinely brought me to tears. The animation style matching the "Red" trailer, the fighting style, the story telling, and, to tear my heart out at the very end, adding "Cold" when Ruby reached Summer's grave. Your passion for the characters and Monty's direction really shines here, and I would love to see your own take on the other trailers.

9 minutes of pure full-throttle style and absolutely nasty choreography that had me jumping out of my chair. I couldn't place it at first but after finishing the video I get it now; you've managed to recapture the feeling I had when I saw the Red trailer for the first time so many years ago, put your own vicious spin on it, and turn it into something Monty would be jealous of. Incredible job, and I can't wait to see what you do next!

@@AKMotions you say you dont stand close but in my opinon this is damn close dude. You somehow managed to create fluid fight scenes with new ideas and amazing execution. The only thing that was really off was the running. I haven't seen anything so far from other people trying that comes close to your animation. Your animation feels like monty himself worked on it and at the same time has things that are obviously your style that dosent detract from it at all. Saw this in another comment and you probably know him already but Mark is another great animator and he just put out a great RWBY animation like 2 days ago. Side note my favorite tiny part her is at 5:00 where she holds it behind her back and uses the recoil to spin around and shoot 2 of them. Dope as. had to rewatch it a couple times

This needs more views, I love how much passion you can tell went into this.
This has the vibe of after a good first draft, going back and polishing it even further with what's known in the future. Little things like Summer, or every single part of Crescent Rose being used. The "stab someone with the back end, fire it *through* them, then flip over to grab it, fire and finish the job" was some insane stuff. I liked the little synch ups with the music too.
This was absolutely incredible. I love Monty’s style and have a been looking for fights that use the camera similarly. So glad I found this channel, the snowboarding bit was really cool

Okay, bro, the fight choreography here is about as insane as Monty himself would have done it. Over-the-top moves and slices because they look awesome, and hacking through Grimm like cheese.... Monty would have been proud of this, through and through. Awesome job!

A lot can be said about the animation but I loved what you did with the narrative. So much can be said by having Ruby chasing the ghost of her mother.

The cinematography and music really tell a touching story that you fully get once you see it to the end and that gives re-watches a new meaning. This really captured the Monty-esk energy as @Celtic Phoenix said in his, but clearly there is some of your own style in it with the cape-glows and similar FX. I hope to see more and that you continue to reach new heights. May your inspiration never end!

Awesome story. The choreography? Excellent. The Red Like Roses songs fit, and having Ruby follwing the spirit of her mother was interesting. Character design, very reminiscent of the animation style from Volume 3. Every time I listen to Red Like Roses II I get a little choked up from the lyrics.
This was a really good animation. It really put Ruby as a person into perspective. The Red trailer only had so much and not enough to get an insight of her character like the other trailers. This is like the Red trailer but done right!

It's a cross. I thought of it because Ruby wears a cross on her suit and there is no cross related religion in rwby, so it would kinda make sense for her to wear it in honor of her mother.

This was just amazing! I teared up, and the choreography is so good. I also love how you worked off of familiar movements and altered them in surprising ways. The sledding down on crescent rose and the grimm were both amazing ideas as well. Something particular as well, when Ruby dodged a grimm and it accidentally hit another grimm, I loved that. I feel like we never see that!

this animation has great monty energy, every movement the character makes has purpose, either to dodge, attack, or maintain momentum, none of that "funny movement because it looks cool"

I could really see this being used as the RED/Ruby Rose Trailer for any of the upcoming volumes. They really need to be buying this or just downright giving you a contract.
I really loved the way you portrayed her Speedboost/Teleportation semblance.
The sounds of the laserations and dismemberment are perfect as you could really hear and see the sharpness ,weight and force needed to cut through.
Choreo was fantastic also and accurate and good duration.
There is Celtic Phoenix with his Fixing RWBY, maybe this can be used for that
After this video and reading the description I never truly really realized the meaning in the words of the song I just was to busy rocking out to the lyrics but know I do understand the song talks about how Ruby felt after hearing her mother died

You definitely nailed down the emotion weight that it felt like Ruby had in the earlier seasons with Summer :) the animation at times felt slow and stiff, but overall, I can definitely see improvement upon that. I like how you also incorporated new elements that definitely felt like something Ruby would have done within the show. Nicely done!
to be completely honest, i went into this expecting a remake or a study of the original Red trailer, all expectations were completely destroyed. I'm honestly at a loss of words when it comes to this comment. the choreography is so inspired and just full of ideas of what Cresent Rose could do, I normally don't rewatch parts of any fights scenes but I was caught off guard with some pieces so much that I had to rewatch and just say "Cresent Rose could do that??", I know its a fan made video but honestly there's only been a few RWBY related content (mainly Mark Zhang's work) that got me so attached to watching, it was refreshing, was wanting to know "whats the next move that will catch me off guard?".

My dude, Monty would be proud. Such creativity with the motions and Ruby's use of Crescent Rose. Like people tend to forget the end of the hilt is bladed too
Feels like I was back in 2013 once more just getting hyped for this and wondering what world I'd enter upon seeing the trailers, miss those times. They were simple, they were fun, it had this old and yet fun charm to it, this animation was beautiful and inspiring while pulling a few new moves and yet? Keeping that raw energy that Monty kickstarted this wacky wonderous world with, thank you for making this. Give those new riders some old RWBY flare with some new tricks.
Hopefully I can bring the same feeling people had with RWBY but with something new. Stay tuned. I plan on making big projects.
Rooster teeth needs you to make their modern fight scenes, they just don't pack as much punch

Omg I wish Monty could’ve seen this. Especially when Roosterteeth can incorporate ways to show how Ruby can fight with her scythe in show but it’s like they have no creativity like Monty did. And your story telling in the animation is just chef’s kiss. Idk why more people haven’t seen it. It’s like Ruby’s trying her best to run from her thoughts of negativity but they just keep coming no matter where she turns. Eventually it all just leads back to Summer and Ruby just feels lost. Well done dude. Respect
