Jordan Craig I love blink in general but I only really like maybe 4 songs. Dammit, All the small things, whats my age again and maybe some other. IMO green day has A LOT of great songs from the radio hits, Boulevard of broken dreams, 21 guns, wake me up when september ends etc and to older punk, basket case, welcome to paradise, when i come around, longview etc.
Even with Neighborhoods... God I wish they would have put at least one album that had this sound again. The distinct blink sound that no one else had. Goddamnit.
I think thats one thing that will always hurt. I like to think about how good the next album after untitled would have been if they wouldn't have broken up in early 2005. It prolly would have been released in late 2005 or early 2006. I think it would have been their greatest album since all of them were firing on all cylinders musically in that period. Its just sad and unfortunate what happened.
I think it would have gotten heavier but there would have been some "nicer" songs with flanger pedals and delay, kind of like AVA.. but people need to remember that this band isn't just Tom DeLonge. The +44 record showed me that a lot of what I thought tom was responsible for in blink was actually Mark.

We'd have Box Car Racer today (or at least a follow up to BCR's self titled) if they didn't break up in 2005. There would be no AVA or +44 album. But had they set their differences aside, the 2006 album would've been amazing. Yet chances are they'd be on hiatus today.

Take songs from WDNTW and WYHSB and add in the re-pitched Up All Night and the Interlude from the 2004 sound check. It gives somewhat a glimpse...I wouldn't call it entirely accurate, but that interlude holds a key though. Personally, I think all they needed was a break (not hiatus), and just come back in 2006. That way everyone could chill and recollect themselves.
