  • In April of 2022, The United States Air Force Band collaborated with the prolific composer Eric Whitacre and premiered a brand new song, specifically commissioned for the Singing Sergeants. Whitacre, known for his innovative choral works and his ability to push the boundaries of the genre, worked closely with the Singing Sergeants to bring "All seems beautiful to me" to life.
The piece is a tribute to the poet Walt Whitman, and its lyrics are taken from his poem “Song of the Open Road." It explores the cycle of life and death, and the idea that even in death, beauty and growth can be found. It is National Poetry Month and there is no better time to highlight how great words inspire composers to create great works.
“All seems beautiful to me” is now being performed throughout the world and we are thrilled to be involved on the creation of this new standard piece in choral literature. Please enjoy this performance of the Singing Sergeants performing “All seems beautiful to me” at the TMEA convention in San Antonio, TX.

The peace and beauty of your music is so needed in the chaos of the world today! Thank you for all you do. I was an Army musician and I know the countless hours of practice and sacrifice over the decades that is needed to bring the spirit of music to life. Every time I hear your group and the other Airforce groups from Washington DC, it makes me want to join all over again! Continue to sing and continue to be a beacon for freedom!

This is clear as day. I'm literally using it to learn one of the lines. The vibrato is really only in the Soprano line in a big way. If you don't like vibrato, try early opera
