  • Red Light, Green Light games are a great way for children to get exercise, develop their motor skills, and have fun. This fun game for kids can also help children learn about following directions, taking turns, and working together as a team. Using a video game theme will make this activity irresistible to young movers and shakers!
When following “Red Light, Green Light, Fast-forward!” children will be able to listen carefully and follow the instructions quickly. This can help them improve their listening skills and improve their ability to pay attention.
In this activity, children will also move their bodies in different ways, which can help them develop body awareness and gross motor skills. Gross motor skills are the skills that help us move our bodies around, such as running, jumping, and climbing. As a bonus, they will also increase their print awareness while following along to this video!
Finally, movement games can help children learn about following directions, taking turns, and working together as a team. All these are important skills that they will need as they get older.
HOW TO PLAY WITH A GROUP-
To play the classic game of Red Light, Green Light in the classroom you will need a group of children and a leader. The leader will stand at one end of the room and face the children. The leader will then say, "Green light!" and the children will run towards the leader. When the leader says, "Red light!" the children must stop and freeze. If the leader sees any children moving, they must go back to the starting line. The first child to reach the leader wins the game!
You can make Red Light, Green Light even more fun by incorporating a video game theme. For example, you can have the children pretend to be characters from their favorite video game. You can also use music or sound effects from their favorite games to make it more exciting.
If you're looking for a fun and educational game for kids, I encourage you to play “Red Light, Green light, fast-forward” with me!
