    Worked at Ford 30 years you hooked up your distributor line fine pcv vent hose from valve cover does not go to the 1/4 fitting on carb that's for your choke tube if your using it, the hose coming off valve cover is a vent for pcv, pcv valve draws blowby out of engine and vent let's it draw fresh air back in the motor, usually it connects to the air filter where it draws filtered clean air, hope this helps.

    PCV installs at the front of the valve cover, next to the radiator. Breather goes to the rear on the valve cover.

    • @roberthampton5254
      @roberthampton5254 Před 9 lety +2

      The PCV can be moved to the back hole on the valve cover to cut down on hose running down the valve cover. This is a very common mod.

    Someone unhooked the smog "Air" pump and removed the hoses to the air bypass valve, among other things. The breather in the valve cover has a hose that goes to the air filter housing, not the carb. So they sell one that is enclosed and does not need a hose. It is chrome. Goes well with this carb setup too.

    Thanks man,
    I'm gonna uncap my flote valve and route it to my canister,
    I bought the truck and someone had the carb swapped out and everything capped off on it.

    I would hook that up, unless you don't care for your engine, it insures it pulls in filtered air, as that port allows it to draw through your air cleaner, something that is on all stock engines.

    @IamRafe  Před 11 lety

    The PCV valve line goes to the back side of the carb. I think I showed it in this video. The breather line goes to the top left of the carb I think...but that doesn't have to be hooked up. And I guess you don't need to hook up the vent hose either since you don't have the canister. I'm no pro at this. I'm just an amateur trying to help some others out!

    @iamrafe: the small lines you have disconnected by the firewall probably go to you climate controll stuff inside, it will move the vent door. w/o it hooked up, it will only blow from the defrost most likely. my van has the same carb, and i reconnected a bunch of things, and fixed many vacuum leaks. anyways, you can run that line to one of the many small vacuum tubes around the bottom of the carb. thanx

    What throttle cable plate did you use? Dose it have a trans kick down connection?

  • @dvndvdsn1
    @dvndvdsn1 Před 12 lety

    yes you can, just apply it to the similar things on your truck. and if your truck doesnt have it, you can cap it off

  • @IamRafe
    @IamRafe  Před 11 lety +2

    That's odd, I'm not sure what you should do. Sure seems like the back port should be drilled out.

    I can’t find an air filter that fits that card either hits the hot air choke or hits the piece coming off the front of the carb. What air filter is that? Closest fit I could find is the 6 1/2” Mr gasket 1485.

    • @IamRafe
      @IamRafe  Před 5 lety +1

      This is the carb kit from Gronk. Not sure what the filter is.

      I use a Mr. Gasket #1585A 6.5" diameter with the 2100 carb on my CJ7

    @dvndvdsn1: My vents for the air conditioning and heater worked just fine after installing the carb...so I'm not sure what those lines went to.

    I have a 2150 carb and wondering were does the other hose from your pcv valve run to? I do not have a vacuum canister to hook the vent hose from the float will that degrade preformance. EGR valve is not hooked up due to it had a 4 barrel carb with elder block intake that I replaced with original 302 intake and rebuilt 2150 and everything vacuum fro emissions is gone. Please help thanks!

    I am installing a carb on a 82 f100 302 eng. I am having a problem finding the line that connects next to the fuel line ( line for float bowl) where does it connect to?

      This on a AMC 258 for Jeeps, look up a ford manual or search the forums

      It goes to the charcoal canister near the radiator, which then brings those fumes back to the gas tank - if my understanding is correct...
