1977 Golden Earring played this live at our engagement party. My family owned a 5 star hotel and Golden Earring were staying there. They got back from their gig and asked what was going on. We told them and they played Radar Love acoustically for us. I have tears in my eyes, thank you.

I didn't even notice something so unimportant, and, oh by the way, he did pronounce the name correctly in the video so your comment is totally pointless.
Generally comments on music channels are focused on giving facts about the artists, recommending other songs and making comments on what the reactors said, you know constructive and interesting stuff. Unlike your frankly dumb comment that added nothing to the conversation and served as a needless putdown of someone who just loves music. Have a nice life and maybe one day you'll learn a lesson about perspective and courtesy that you apparently missed along the way.

I mean what exactly was your point, that because I didn't somehow notice a misspelling in the thumbnail that I can't be a fan of the music? Usually in music reaction videos people say how much they like the song, recommend other songs by the artist or give some facts about the artist, things like that. Not, you didn't see the mistake in the title, how much of a fan can you be? You see something new every day. Hilarious.

Best road song ever. Driving through the Nevada desert on highway 50 in the middle of the night. No towns, no cars, no cops. Pure adrenaline.
I don't know if it's best. "Highway Star" by Deep Purple is really good, but "Radar Love" is definitely in the conversation.

Cruising the San Diego Freeway in my 68 Camaro doing over 100 with this song cranking when the Blue lights come on behind me and I get another speeding ticket.... 73 of them in 56 years of driving, oh well.
They played it 250 meters from my home,when i was 12 years old.
At the age of 16 again i saw them live for 10 guilders,on the same spot.
Still can,t remember the end,could be some drinks hahahaha

- They have another "hit" song ("Twilight Zone"), but they will always be remembered for "RADAR LOVE" (great groove, changes, lyrics, and vocals). "One more radar lover gone!"
never heard Twilight Zone but this song and "Candy's Going Bad" used to make me rock out. I'd try to find the notes on my guitar.

Golden Earring’s name comes from Brenda Lee’s Golden Earrings. They first went by the Golden Earrings.
As a teen in the 70s, this was such a great song for a summer drive, windows down, radio blaring, singing like no one is watchin' and not caring if they r, lol. Thanx for the memories, Peace
I am retired now but……..when I was a State Trooper (I won’t say which state) I used to pray for this song to come on the radio when I got into a pursuit. 👍💪🫡

Brenda Lee's biggest hit was "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", a number 1 song in 1958, and in 2023. She also had hits with "Sweet Nothin's", number 4 in 1959, and the song mentioned here "Coming on Strong", a number 11 song in 1966.
Coming on Strong was a song about heartbreaking loss. And at least one Radar Love has left us in this song.
"I'm Sorry" and "All Alone Am I " were two other big hits for Brenda Lee...
This song has generated thousands and thousands of speeding tickets. Awesome.
Brenda Lee was a great singer in the fifties. She was so little and young but she had a woman’s voice.

Nov 16, 2019 was the last time Golden Earring performed Radar Love on stage. I visited many concerts of them. One of my favorites.

Saw them @ Winterland in '74 with Joe Cocker & JoJo Gunn.
The drum kit was clear & each one was wired w/a different colored light to flash when hit.
They played the first part of the song pretty much in the dark ...only the drum lights going.

The band was active until recently but stopped performing after George Kooymans was diagnosed with A.L.S. aka motor neuron disease so he can no longer play guitar. His prognosis is not good.

I'm from their city originally and lived in the same street as the drummer for a while. True legends in The Hague. The main church even played this tune on their anniversary day with the church bells.

this was big when I got out of the army in 1977. every time I drove out of range of a radio station, the next song that began on the new station was RADAR love.
Cool song. In interview about it they said it was surprise how popular it became because it is a Suicide song. Radar Love is him going to his girl. But if you listen to the lyrics she sending him that message from Above. Heaven. He is now going in his card doing that Radar Love to the end. A short video with this shows a car going 100 mile per hour straight off a cliff at the end of the song. Thus the lyric One More Radar Lover Gone! I love the song myself.

Fantastic trucker anthem from this brilliant Dutch live band Golden Earring, a hit in Europe. The 11:18 version of the live album 1977 is unique, including the songs Vanilla Queen, She Flies On Strange Wings and the Byrds cover Eight Miles High, one of the best live rock albums.
In 1982 GE had the next worldwide hit TWILIGHT ZONE, no.10 in the USA, with the video playing continuously on MTV (starting in 1981). However, the length album or a live version is better. Have fun with this especially live band!!!
