THIS is WHY you should buy RS4 over RS6

  • HELLO EVERYONE.
    Yes, well I have said it now so I better stand by it. After having had both the RS4 and the RS6 on loan - I genuinely believe that unless you are in a willy waiving contest - the RS4 ticks more boxes for the money. I am still on the hunt for my next daily car so the hunt continues..
    Super busy with filming at the moment so videos are a little more sporadic. I will be back on a solid 1-2 a week schedule in November!
    Thanks for watching as always

    Just got a dog ( I got outvoted by the family) so the RS3 with the heaviest of hearts, had to go, I was gutted. We decided on a 2020 B9 RS4….and got to say, what an absolutely brilliant car. It’s savagely quick in RS Mode, sooooo practical for kids and dog, decent MPG, and it looks properly aggressive but in a classy way. For a family/dog etc with a petrol head Dad, it really does tick all the boxes. Just love it…

    Nice one Becky, in a B9 S4 myself which I love (and I remember your great review of the avant back in the day, not long after I bought mine). It's more than enough of a daily for me personally but the RS4 to me appeals much more than the RS6 for the very reasons you state. Ultimately I'm wondering if the next car for me will be electric (sacrilege I know). Love the etron GT that I test drove but sadly they're asking crazy money for it and there won't be an avant version (something that perhaps makes the Taycan Cross Turismo appealing, other than the price). Keep up the great work!

    i have an 770bhp RS7 c8, i think if i got an RS4 id always been thinking dam wish i had the RS6. I used to have an M5 f90 Comp, i actually think thats what you should go for faster than any of the audis stock and more involving, 60k gets you a nice one now.. Also remember the RS6/7 have 4 wheel steering to get rid of all the understeer....the RS4 doesn't, and when i drove an RS4 felt flat in performance, didn't wow me at all, better performance in the latest M3. Plus lot more road presence with the RS6.

    Becky’s review is absolutely spot on. I had a fantastic B7 RS4, was disappointed with my B8 RS4, then an RS6 and now a 2021 RS4 that is for me the best of the lot. The RS6 is a great car, as Becky says, but its performance was delivered in a pretty brutal way that felt a bit like being a passenger rather than the driver. Fantastic for long motorway trips, but not that chuckable and too massive for country roads. This RS4 does it all.

      Trying to decide this for myself. Broadly speaking, 50 - 55k gets you into either 2018 B9 or 2016 C7 right now. C7 is showing its age inside and drinks fuel but that V8 🥰. Oh and the M5 can be had for mid-50s now…

    • @Mel1n1
      @Mel1n1 Před 2 lety

      @@PrinceBarin77 Where are you located? Here in Sweden you get a 2018 B9 Rs4 for around 70-80k, maybe 65 if it's higher milage and less equipt. A C7,5 RS6 Performance starts at 65k for the cheapest, and goes for easily 85-90k almost, but that's Nogaro edition. I'm jelous haha! But the RS6 keeps it value WAY better than a RS4 B9, just keep that in mind. A C7 is worth same value in a year while the B9 drops =) You can run a RS6 on around 30 mpg, so compared to any other cars it's not that bad on fuel, it's a Fourwheel drive car, weighing over 2 tons ;)

      @PrinceBarin77 Před 2 lety

      @@Mel1n1 UK based. I love your optimism on my mpg! Sadly there is no way I am disciplined enough to get 30mpg from that powerplant 😏. One advantage for me in the RS4 is the smaller size, which will be easier to hustle around UK “B roads” than the larger car. Not saying the RS6 cannot be enjoyed here but I think I might appreciate the agility of the RS4 a little more. But, on a long straight road, I am going to want the V8 every time.

    I seriously considered the RS4 before I settled with the S4 Avant. Great car - but the S4 I could buy outright and for someone who just recently started a business; made a lot more sense financially. Great video - great review! I drove a RS6 C7 from 2015 to 2021. I did 120,000 miles (a record in a RS6?). On long motorway trips I could get well over 30 MPG, on the school run < 6 MPG. My car was a Litchfield version with 750 BHP. After parting with the RS6 I currently drive an RS5 (so basically same as RS4 in a different body). The car is nice, but I have always felt the 2.9 engine is on its limits all the time if you drive hard from time to time. So I am now picking up a C8 RS6 Tuesday ( 29/08/2023). The RS5 as been a joy, but to my mind feels a level below what the RS6 is all about. Mark.

    Hi Becky, here's a thought, you have some lovely, incredible motors in the 'stable', so the RS4 is a good addition and something a little different too, all wheel, all space, practical with a punch (when you want it and to put a smile on your face), just enough different to be the everyday motor that you drive to your others to play in, it being the wind up to the fun and the all important wind down. Just a thought or might have been a thing as far as you're concerned reading this. Peaceout you lovely person.

    You’ve got a v8 m3 in the stable already, isn’t a rear drive current m3 wagon just a fatter, drifter version of that? I know it drives great and it also has 4wd version coming. But thers4 is a bit different. It’ll be a hoot to drive all year round - it’ll murder wet greasy roads when the m3 is just blinking traction control lights. We’ve had a4 wagons (including s & rs ) and really rated them - you’ve got great cars for being you and silly in, the rs4 is fantastic for when you need to be sensible, get stuff done (and get it done fast without being niticed!).

    Hi Becky, you're still young but I get the RS4 thinking (over the RS6) and the styling etc but maybe you should also look at an Alpina B3S Touring (X-drive) I had several Alpina models (E36/46 RWD) and then looked at the new RS4 and the B3S. Ive driven both back to back and the Alpina is epic and more rear wheel biased than even the latest Quattro system, it goes like stink and handles our UK roads perfectly. It's also rarer and feels special too. Depends what you want and admittedly I'm older than you but as a daily, the Alpina B3S Touring does it all and doesn't attract unwanted attention. I also find it's the perfect compliment to a 911, when you need more space.

The M2 just looked mean (I like). But the RS4 looked like…. an RS4, unique, and special. It’s the same engine as Porsche use in some of their cars. It is super rapid when you play with the buttons or utterly placid in town. The M3 was a one trick pony whereas I found the RS4 could play nicely in all driving conditions and was fun at all speed points. And…. The boot. Also, what is the fuel economy on a motorway at the optimum fuel saving speed or UK National Speed Limit 70mph.
    You may take the car to Europe regularly and unrestricted Autobahn.
    The V8 twin turbo RS6 is well within its maximum capacity whereas the RS4 is more towards its maximum.
    There’s also resale: Ask Tony Gravelwood Carsales or Sam who you were with on a trip to Monaco in one of your first 2016 videos I’ve seen since subscribing yesterday.
    I’m sure the premium model RS6 particularly if it’s the top Vorsprung trim Level will be worth more.
    I would get the V8 RS6 - performance and carrying capacity to spare.

      AWD is superior grip in winter and for safety. Porsche rectified the handling on the 911 with AWD.
      If you go drag racing with Matt Watson, AWD is quicker off the line for 1/4 mile; 1/2 mile.

    Absolutely go for it , RS4 over the 6 any day of the week, treat yourself to it, and I'm sure James would be able to drift it easily 🤣.
    Love and blessings ❤️🙏

    Older RS4's were known for their under steer so presumably this new model has snapped up and no turns in properly.

    There’s surely a new rs4 coming soon Becky. The interior is behind now twords the new 3/5/6. The news A4 will have the integrated dash I’d say too. Beast tho love it.
    U could also wait for m3 touring. And I’m an Audi fan.
    Edit it’s not coming till 2023.

    Try M340i xdrive touring - map it proper and it’s a daily sleeper

    I currently drive an A4 tdi quattro remapped to 240 bhp. I absolutely love it but arthritis makes using the clutch difficult. So I am considering a S4, more than enough power for me. If I had an Rs4 I'd loose my license in a heartbeat.

    Unfortunately no rs4 avant in US. Although, I personally feel very cramped in the a4 & a5. dynamics in the rs4 are probably better than the rs6 just because the rs6 feels like a speed boat. If you only have money for something like this to be your one car garage then buy an a4 and a used sports car lol.

    I can't agree. The RS4 just doesn't have the presence or the muscularity of the RS6. It might be nearly as quick but it's a pale shadow.

    The C7 RS6 is a better car and much better value for money. Also gets better mpg than the C8 despite the hybrid.
