The setup for the cellos that come out of your shop are every bit of the adjective "masterful" .

I always enjoy your videos. It is wonderful to be able to learn things from one of the European masters, especially in what must surely be a third language. If I may humbly contribute some knowledge: rather than "round" and "hollow", the terms in English are "concave" and "convex" 🙂

this is very important and useful thank you so much, I know how guitar should be but cello isn't and if I know these early I won't destroy my cello before and now I can do little fix on my cello and know where the standard is

Do you think the tiny tube bridge protectors on strings alter the height in a negative way?

I'd like to add, in addition to the fingerboard being perfect, some folk (non-classical) players use steel strings, and not synthetic or gut, and play with a lot of double stops. For this reason, a flatter lower bridge is preferred for that type of music and strings. Also, it seems to be a little personal preference. I recently bought a modern student instrument, made in Germany, and it looked like the bridge, though well cut - someone must have made a new bridge for it, and they used a nice blank, and cut it well - but to my eye, it looked really high. But, after playing it, I really didn't notice any problem, and left it on the higher side. Sometimes a little high helps with vibrato too.

Hello Edgar, I apologize for contacting you through this channel. I am planning to copy and paste this message onto a few of your videos because I understand that you are very busy. I hope you will take notice of my message and respond to my emails. I have sent you a few emails about my low-budget violin, and I am hoping to have it customized. I need your expert guidance and suggestions. I truly appreciate your work and I hope that your channel will soon have more subscribers. With less than 19k subscribers, you are an amazing luthier who deserves to have more subscribers. Thank you.

Hi Edgar, what about the cello upper nut? Is there any specific measurement between the string output and the fingerboard?🤔

Máster Edgar , in your opinion is there any drawback in having a low-action on string height regarding sound? I remember one of your early videos talking about it, but would like to know if your opinion has updated since then.
I’ve heard that higher strings tend to provide more projection ( is it a myth or does it apply?) I have known professionals that go on both sides ( high and low action).
